Do your style preferences change with the seasons?

the question was posed. In thinking about this I was surprised to realize that my preferences definitely are influenced by the season. Maybe that's why I don't wear my denim pencil skirt in the summer (too structured?) as much as I do in the fall or winter. It's just as cool and comfortable as anything I do wear.
In the summer I'm more apt to go for volume and wear more boho type pieces. When thinking of fall/winter, I turn to pieces with more structure and pull out blazers instead of cardies, for example. It makes buying now for fall complicated, but it helps to realize this style change that goes on in my mind.
Does anyone else change style with the seasons? Or do you do seasonal versions of your favorite looks? (This seems the more ideal way if I can twist my feelings to it.)

I wear a lot more skirts and dresses in the summer than in the fall/winter. Also, I seem to wear more off-white, khaki, brown, and gold/bronze - earthy tones seem right for summer. But, I've been debating about moving away from this and sticking with white/silver/gray instead.

I wear volume and structure year round and I also love my cardi's no matter what the weather! So, mostly I do seasonal variations on favorite looks except that I wear a skirt or dress about 50% of the days, whereas in the winter/fall I might only wear them once a week.

I also wear heels more in the cooler months than in the summer. That is strange, considering ice and snow, huh? I guess I walk a lot more when it's warmer out.

I wear blazers mostly in fall OR spring, sort of like outwear for me. Hard to put a blazer on under a winter coat, and it's too hot in the summer.

I also confess I have this mental problem pairing blazers with clamdiggers. It seems wrong to me. (Okay with a skirt, just not clams).

And I probably wear statement earrings just a tad more often than statement necklaces in the summer. If it's really hot out, a necklace feels like too much.

I think I definately feel more casual in the summer and when autumn rolls around I am in the mood for some delicious fabric in autumn weight and colors. I am ready to get dressed again, so to speak.
I am in a big style evolution so these are just gut feelings and not what I actually have been doing all my life.

It's really hard to say. I have quite the extensive personal style past, and I can't actually directly relate my changes (or evolution, as it's been) to seasons, per se. My style doesn't seem to be changing for fall so far. I just plan on adding layers, cute scarves, leggings, tights, and boots.
I would say that I tend to dress up more in the fall/winter months, which I actually prefer.

I think mine used to change with the seasons, but only incrementally. I do like more volume (i.e., looser) in the summer, and this year I am definitely wearing more dresses. But jackets and cardigans, pants and pencil skirts...these adapt well to all weather, and I am really liking the way they look on me.

I've actually found this new summer style I've evolved into to be equally helpful as I am rebuilding my fall wardrobe. It turns out a lot of the shapes I am liking now will translate well when it's cooler!

I definitely am more inclined to boho and unstructured looks in the summer.

YES, I just realized this. I wear full length pants during the summer, but definitely prefer flare/wide leg. While in the winter I prefer a straight leg. I know that seems simple but it was quite an epiphany to me.

My style stays pretty consistent during the seasons. However, I don't live where it's super hot, and I also have to consider the air conditioning at work, so I don't NEED to vary my look as much. I definitely wear more skirts in the summer, but they still fit in with my winter style as far as cut goes.

Hmm. I haven't really thought about seasonal changes, other than needing to wear more clothes when it is colder. Interesting.

So interesting! I wear structure and volume throughout the year. I wear black, white, grey, cream, yellow and red all through the year too. Hmmm. No changes in style preferences or dress codes per se, but a big need to refresh my look each season otherwise I get very bored. I love to wear trends and fads just for fun. Fashion is always about having fun :0)

My style definitely changes during the fall/winter months. Living in Florida it's hot so much of the time that adjusting style is a way to acknowledge the season change. During spring and summer I wear lighter colors (not much black) and looser styles and, like Carissa, I just realized that I wear wide leg pants more in the summer. I wear darker colors and a closer, more structured fit in the winter. I still stick to lightweight, breathable fabrics.

Interesting thread & something I hadn't thought much about. I think I tend to wear fewer blazers in the summer also (don't need the extra layer) but I love them in Spring & Fall. I wear knit tops under my jackets or without them year-round though. I think I really just put more layers on. I'm finding since they finished our parking garage & I can literally be inside from the time I leave the house to the time I get back to the house (due to attached garage & skywalks) that I tend to dress more similar year round. More sandals in the summer of course. Just less coverage in general (meaning bremuda's vs. pants, sandals vs. boots, etc.). I think I get more courageous with color in the summer also. Interesting! :)

I wear a dress or skirt almost daily in the summer, just so easy , and if i get chilled I will throw on a long or short cardi. I love being bare legged.

In spring and fall I will do dresses/skirts and pants about equal, but I add a blazer. As the weather cools up/more pants...warms up/more skirts, and dresses

In the winter I am sooooo cold I wear pants or denim almost daily..a skirt perhaps once a week w/tights and ankle boots. I don't do dresses in the winter because I always put a turtleneck sweater with my skirts, and a cami and a jacket, or coat and a scarf and whatever else can keep me warm.:)
