Suz, I can get stuff delivered to a border shipping point in Messina NY and they will hold if for a month for $5.00 per item. (It's a hardware store/post office type deal) I had my dressmakers dummy shipped there (free shipping from Amazon) and no problem at all. I just order when I'm ready to go and pick up when I'm heading that way. You must have something like that near you in the States.
Here's the website I used, and it was all free. It should show you the nearest point you can have it shipped to. The only hold back might be that Nordstrom's might not ship to a 3rd party address when you use a Canadian credit card. But you never know...(enabling...LOL)

ETA I just quickly checked the website and it says they have a delivery point (a lumber hardware store open 7 days a week) at Wellesley (sp) Island. Is that close?
I think this way too, if you are prepared to try stuff on (at the Walmart bathroom or someplace like that on the U.S. side) you can take advantage of the free return shipping offered by some companies for those things that don't work out immediately. Should be fun to see your "Real Time K/R's from Walmart"....LOL
ETA The $5.00 fee is per package, not per item. So if you buy 10 things from Nordies and it comes in one package (and is 10lbs or under) the handling fee is $5.00. (Just to be clear)but I think if they ship individually you'd pay $5.00 per package received on your behalf. I'd make sure if I was ordering a lot that they all got shipped together....(Just planning ahead a bit. LOL)
