Confession time for me!

The Nordies sale convinced me to try out the blue Report Marks booties, 30% off sale prices at Land's End netted me a $50 puffer coat (turns out I wished I had one while I was shivering in the baseball stands lately, plus I hope to visit my dad in Missouri for the holidays), and I decided to try out a yellow/navy jacket since I parted with my previous yellow jacket.

I also won a 4-in-one jacket on Ebay and a purse to DIY.

But that's okay, because I've sworn off SYC and I'm ONLY going to keep stuff that's easy and perfect in the closet and there's lots planned for next month.

I think i was expecting a bit more from the sales? The things i ordered or bought were actually from before any Memorial Day type sales went into play. I bought my Steve Madden boots on Memorial Day but they were just in the clearance section not any special type of promo.

That lands end coat is awesome!! I bought it this winter too. I was at the mall yesterday and didn't buy a single thing. It was kind of a relief actually. I am looking for a cropped sweater and being picky about just the right fit.

I got one Nanette Lepore blouse. I'd been lusting after it at a local store, and when I found it reduced online I pounced. It's neon orange -- won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it!

I am finding that it is best for me to stay away from sales, flash sites, and all those other places where I get overwhelmed and temptatiion is so easy to give in. The more I browse, the more I find things I think I need that I really don't.

Instead, I bid on and won an emerald Equipment shirt from e-bay for half the retail cost.

Oh, good, you did get the jacket!!

As for me, can you say Suit? Express's sale got me to try the matching jacket to my zig zag tweed pants. Never dreamed I'd buy a suit this month, but there it is. Hope it's a keeper.

Other than that, I just did my usual eBay trolling and snapped up a few needs (strapless bra, lounge/yoga pants).

Summer dress/sleepwear refresh from Macys
Co-lab cognac pleather crossbody from Marshalls for a *very* reasonable price

Oh and I bought some clothes for my poor neglected husband.

Um, I ordered five pairs of shoes. Two have already arrived, and one of the more expensive pairs is for sure going back, so I don't feel TOO bad about it. Plus, shoe math! I also tried on a sixth pair that was not on sale (those Wolky gladiators I posted about a while ago), and they were amazing, so now I'm wondering if I should get those too (they are rather spendy though so should probably make sure i am returning some more of the 5 pairs of shoes before I pull the trigger!).

I also duplicated my AE denim jacket because they were having a sale.

Oh, and I bought some yarn for knitting, but that doesn't really count because it's not clothes yet!

All of my purchases were online... It's too easy these days, didn't even have to leave the house. =P

I got the washed silk that I have in orange-red. I've realized I don't really love the sheer Equipment shirts, though they are pretty - they just feel so delicate!

Missed the sales b/c my DH and I decided to look at cars. We took advantage of dealer incentives and came home with a new car. So yes, we caught a super sale... just not on clothing.

I bought the Nanette Lepore striped jacket that Angie recommended from Nordstrom's half yearly sale. I normally have to get petite jackets, but this one has "bracelet length" sleeves, which are the perfect regular length on me. Also hits at the perfect high hip spot on my 5'1" frame. So glad I went for it!

Rita, I'm crossing my fingers for you to find that sweater. It would be so cute on you, so I hope the right one emerges. I got to see the puffer up close and personal when MaryK lent me hers - I do plan to purge another coat to make room, but it was such a steal.

I'm afraid to actually look at the order confirmations. Didn't leave the house much to shop B&M but darned internet never closes. I ordered 1 pr boots, 1 pair shoes, 1 pair sandals, denim jacket, 2 pair pants from Gap, 2 pair shorts J crew, shorts from Nordies, a long wool coat from Calvin Klein (originally $469 for $59.99). Oh boy I better leave out a snack for the UPS man. Pretty sure there will be some returns in here, but there were some good deals and everything is returnable easily and something I needed.

I bought some beeeyouuuuteeefoool fabric. 2 pieces of chiffon, a silk floral and a very nice polyester (polyester and "Nice" aren't always at odds...) print with birds. I also bought a piece of ITY jersey (drapey, silky finish knit) with a tie-dye print in pinks, purples and oranges.

The funny thing about that last one was that the sales associate looked at me when I asked her to cut it and said, "don't you already have some of this." I obviously spend too much time at the fabric store. I bought it anyway. When I told my husband about this he said, you know, the really funny thing will be when you look through your stash and find that you do already have some of that fabric.

@ Amy: You remind me of my mom. She had huge stashes of fabric in her home. When she got too old and sick to sew (in addition to suffering from a stroke, she developed wet macular degeneration, which made her legally blind), our family had to sell all that fabric. There was TONS of it. It was heartbreaking to let it go, but none of us had room to store it.

Ha, Amy. This is the reason why I don't own a sewing machine. I do NOT need an excuse to stash fabric the way I stash yarn. There is already nowhere to put all the yarn in my tiny apartment.

My mom, on the other hand, HAS bought the same fabric multiple times. My father used to do this with books as well.

Ah, Amy you are reminding me that I need to get going on using my own fabric stash! I just don't enjoy sewing much ATM because my sewing station was taken over by DH's laptop... but I have pants half finished! Your fabrics sound amazing. Very excited to see what they become!
