Haha! That's a good one. I wear a mixture of styles. I guess if I have to use just one word, it would be:

FEMININE

When all is said and done, that's the overall look I'm after. That said, to me there's not just one way to look feminine. You can wear several different styles and still look feminine. That's the beauty of the word.

Emphatic. No picture but here's what I wore yesterday: leopard print cotton sateen skirt, all rose beiges and browns. Short sleeve slightly scoop neck stretch fabric top in red and indigo print, a naive block print of foliage.

ETA: skirt a pencil and top tucked in. Smallish woven belt in a burgundy brown.

Colored.

Colorful seems to imply bright or primary colors. Since I wear dark colors and black, I thought colored was appropriate. You won't find me wearing colors that are more washed out - beige, pastel, cream, white and if I do, they're paired with brighter colors.

AJ, I thought of Fun when I saw your name. I am playing a little game of my own guessing what I'd call other's styles. I'm of the mind that some have a more singular look and are therefore easier to distill down.

Uncontrived. (Actually that's a downright lie, but it makes me a liar alongside over 3 million other Parisians, who all work damn hard at convincing the rest of the world their laid-back chic just 'happens'. And now I'm off to tackle my nightly beauty routine, 'cos that's another French lie. We buy hundreds of euros-worth of creams and lotions to cosset our skin, then tell the rest of the world WE would never DREAM of Botox or going under the knife, because we 'prefer our characterful wrinkles'. Well the truth is, I'm going to spend the next half-hour doing my very damndest to keep mine at bay! It's a hard life being French, you know!! :-))

Well, darn you, goldenpig!! I mean, thanks for the 'solution' endorsement and all that, but I'd been sitting here, putting off my nightly routine (not to mention my beauty sleep!!), hoping for a 'comedy', cos I needed just one more to get my 'missing' badge! I had 'solutions' by the bucket-load!!! Call that professional solidarity, huh??? LOL!

Balanced. No photo, sorry. But I am usually trying to reach a happy medium between seemingly disparate elements: masculine/feminine, classic/trendy, elegant/whimsical... Or sometimes wearing something atypical just to balance off what I normally wear.

Quirky.

As in, wearing miniskirts as aprons is quirky. Or the way I tie my headscarves to keep just my ears warm.

But this is not my favorite word. It suggests cat lady with a love of Kurt Weill. I like Kurt Weill and have a dog.

@Mo - It was a toss-up between fun and feminine. OK I've changed my mind. I'm going with FUN!

ETA: Added pics

I usually pick a "zing" feature whether that be a color, fun accessory, or idea (sweater sleeves sticking out under scrunched blazer sleeves or trying out a new trend) that just makes it a joy to get dressed. (Got a little picture happy, sorry!)

I love this thread! Well done, Natalie! Lady-like is perfect. I agree with quite a few of the other words chosen for respective styles too.

The one word challenge gets right to the heart of it. No nonsense! I'm going with:

"Crisp"

My work would be "soft" if I had to pick just one.

Sounds like the exact opposite of Angie, doesn't it? But it's just my spin on "soft". Soft colors, soft draping, but all in moderation and balanced with ladylike tailoring and a vintage nod. (-:
