Denim jackets aren't a part of my core style, generally speaking. However, like many of us, I live in an environment that is more casual than I would like, and I do like casual jackets that have some structure and a little stretch. My ON dark indigo version is heavy and is also constricting in the upper arm when I layer, so I've been on the lookout for one -- one, mind you -- that is lighter in weight, and on the more polished side.

1/2 Well, I found one at a Loft Outlet! This is light and stretchy, but doesn't bag out at all. I sized down, but still have plenty of room in the arm for a sweater. That means that my petite flower friends might be sized out., of course (sorry). The one drawback is no seam pockets, although that helps with the sleek factor, and the top pockets will hold my phone, if needed (I always carry a bag). I like the stitching, the shape of the collar, and the feminine shape on the rear view.

Of course, I'd just purchased this one from Kohl's...... in two colors

3: I purchased the blue in XL --- it fits me better than the model, but is looser on purpose. I wanted to layer this one and wear it as outwear. It will go to festivals, camping, etc. I was looking for dark indigo and more polish, but the softness and 70's fun (and, let's face it, the killer sale), drew me in.

4/5: The same as #2, in a large. This fabric is lighter and stretchier and fits better in the smaller size. I'll probably keep my eyes open for another style of white jacket, but this one gives me a bit of brightness on top for now!

Could I do with one denim jacket? Sure. But I rarely find jackets that fit as well, and these are well constructed, with good fabrications, at an excellent price point. I'll find out how well they merge with my style direction as I move forward. I'd like them to offset the polish in some of my pieces -- giving them casual ease, but I'll have to be careful to avoid the "Church Lady Denim" look, lol!
