Jules, I meant I'm going to play around with the skirt more, not with the white shirt. I have other tops that I'd like to try with the skirt, as well as a few short sleeve sweaters. My title was true, these outfits are "styled", not really styled.

BTW, I've committed to this skirt - I cut the tags, and returned the other eight skirts to Macy's. I also mailed back the EF jersey skirt. So I feel pretty good getting the dining table cleaned off!

I'm pleased for you that you've made a decision. I'm also intrigued, as I don't think I've ever considered a purchase as much as that in my life. In younger days ( my 20s) it was mostly just buy what I liked I think. I was a university student at first with a smallish budget but managed to find cute things that didn't feel hugely expensive, in my memory. Some were second-hand but many full price. Then graduated into quite a well-paid job and built a wardrobe I loved. Some of those pieces were expensive, but I kept them many years. I still wear 2 things now over 30 years later! I was easier to fit then, petite but a slim pear in those days.
Then in the 90s ( my 30s) I had 3 young children and just wore leggings and long jumpers ( knits, sweaters?) I think! Or shorts and T-shirts with a very occasional dress. I must have had some more professional skirts and trousers as I was still working. But I mostly forget.
40 is when the weight gain started and with a vengeance from 47. Since 47 I was building up a wardrobe again and beginning to learn things about what's most flattering ( slowly!). It has been almost 9 years of slow learning. I am impressed with your dedication and hope that the skirt makes you happy many, many times x

Jenni, thanks for sharing. I've also gained weight over the years. I had to relearn what clothes work for me now, and also join the modern world in terms of style. I found YLF after I went grey. Not only did I have to change my clothing styles, but also the colors. My grey hair is practically white, so tan and beige are really bad.

I still have a jacket that I bought in 1975. It's an emergency jacket that I keep in the car.
