Angie says - "Never say never" when it comes to fashion....and she's a very wise woman!

I've never worn denim on denim before and never intended to either. It IS hard to commit to SO MUCH DENIM.

But look what I'm sporting today! And I love it very much too! The outfit came naturally to me. I wore jeans and the Breton stripes tee....and the vest just 'felt' like the next step. It's comfy, it's casual, it's nicely layered for AC and I may be in-love with the ease of this look!

Yayyyy... finally you're stepping out of your comfort zone & experimenting with tees + denim... I love this on you... the ONLY thing I'd change is that I'd swap the sandals with a pair of cute espadrilles. ❤

I think denim on denim can look great when it's two distinctly different shades, such as the light and dark you've done here. You prove my point nicely! The stripes are great with it too.

Lol to the "hard to commit to so much denim" comment. I can see a lot of people having trouble getting their heads around the concept
For me, I have so much of it in my closet, it's hard not to commit. The denim on denim happens by accident!

Word Lily, you really should consider a denim vest. It's turned out to be such an unexpected workhorse for me....Thanks to YLF. This vest has languished in my closet for years and years....just cropping it made it come back to life!

This is cute with the two different colored denims. Denim on denim is a look I'll probably never wear (I live in the SW and the "Texas tuxedo" look is common around here) but I can appreciate it on others.

I think it looks great! I think wearing a vest instead of a jacket helps it not seem like too much denim. And wearing two different shades, and you did. Well done!

You're so cute I can't stand it. This is a perfectly done version of denim on denim, and at your age, it absolutely works. (as opposed to the bug I have about it on us older women - when you've done it before, I say don't do it again ) I love it!

LisaP---you're pretty cute yourself! I know what you mean by 'don't do it again'. The only reason I was able to wear this look was because a vest is much less denim than a denim shirt or jacket, and the striped top breaks the denim expanse.

Isabel - thank you so much! I'm loving the hair too Ever since I cut it, I haven't used makeup! The hair stands out to be the fresh, lovely thing in my look, and I can get away with a makeup free look!

And are about 20 years younger than me , which is what I meant about the "if you've done it before don't do it again " theory. I actually did this in the 70's and care not to go there again You weren't likely even born then !

Lol. Yes, Lisa. I was born in the 80s. But denim on denim was very much done to death even when I was a teen. I've worn denim shirts on jeans for years, I remember buying a light wash shirt and jeans for my 13th birthday. And I don't think I'll ever wear the look again!
