Kristin SF, I usually size down one size in Danier, (I'm typically a small/medium size) 5'5, 135 lbs, 34B and straight bigger shoulders (they are the thing I have to fit by going small or medium).

So, I buy the XS (I'm not XS in ANYTHING else). I think I run about a 6-8 in regular size and am curvy with a longish torso.

I need to go to Canada, with a generous shopping budget for bags and leather jackets.

OMG, it's short AND it unzips from the bottom?!?!? That would totally negate all the too long in the torso / bunches funny at the hips problems I have with leather jackets.

YOU TEMPTRESSES.

(Shannon, when you get it could you measure it for me, pretty please? I think I probably need a small in Danier but I have no idea about sizing really.)

Thanks Kim, super helpful!!

I have friends in Canada to whom I've shipped stuff before....hmmmm.....

Kristin, I agree about sizing down in Danier . I usually wear size 0 or xs. I am 5' 6 and weigh in around 105 and have a longish torso with smaller shoulders. In Danier I wear xxxs which is a size I've never even heard of in any other brand! I think they just made that one up lol

I got the medium. I'm a large in most jackets these day.
Maybe I can take some pictures and measurements this weekend. I do have a somewhat similar shape to you Diana (short waist/high hip/8)... although not as narrow in the waist as you these days!
I got the M, I am 5"6/160 lbs with above figure type but a widening middle-aged trunk. It is short, but not as short as some. Longer than waist length on me, it tapers slightly at the waist and then out again to just cover my hip and hit at the thigh. The saleslady grabbed a navy moto (like Ceit has?) and suggested I try on for comparison. I said I already had and she immediately said, too short? Yup. And it's true, all the motos I had been trying this spring were waist-length with no curve, not a flattering look on me when I'm self-concious about my disappearing waist line.

Ooh, thanks Jules! I don't actually mind a longer length, especially since it can be unzipped at the bottom - my problem with longer motos is just that they get caught up and bunch above my butt in back.

Wow - it's a blush EXPLOSION - lol!

Jules - I too love the fact that it zips both ways and I adore the gold hardware. So pretty with the blush.

abc - yeah, I use girl math all the time!

spoff - there is NO such thing as just "looking around" when you enter Danier!

Kim - whoo hoo!

Diana - you and I have similar fit issues for the top half of our bodies. We are both quite short waisted and often times I get that bunching in the middle of my lower back due to the torso of the jacket being just too darned long. I can only fit probably 10% of Danier jackets since they don't make petite, but when I do find one that works, I BBQ! I will gladly take measurements for you when mine arrives (which I am impatiently waiting for ) I would think you would wear a small in their jackets. As spoff mentioned, most folks size down. I normally wear a large in all other jackets, but most often wear a medium in Danier.

Ingunn - oh you MUST come to Canada and you and I can shop at Danier until we're delirious and then go for coffee and pastries

Once we all have our jackets sorted we'll have to have a Danier Blush day and all wear them!

Diana - that's the same fit issues I have. It's not the length so much it's making sure the jacket fits my shoulders and my torso. And this one does. The length comes to my high hip and I'm 5 feet, if that helps.

Ok before I pull the trigger can you guys tell me how you're going to style this? Shannon, I saw your ideas earlier in the thread. Jules, Diana, Kim, mind to weigh in? I just don't want to get caught up in the lemming trap. I have one moto I got last year and wore the heck out of. It's black though.

When I zip the coat I do get some bunching at the waist in the back. But it falls fine below that, it's not stuck on anything. It might not be an absolutely perfect fit for me there.

abc - very smart of you to take a deep breath and think it out. I actually started a Pinterest page with blush motos for inspiration if you want to have a look http://www.pinterest.com/thrif.....o-outfits/

Shannon, I would come this week if I could! I love the idea of going shopping and having pastries with you

ETA: I can't wait to see you in a blush moto. I'm sure it will be more than fab on you!

Abc, you should check out Jenava's blog too. She has a blush moto and looks great in it.

Lately I have been thinking of blush more as a neutral (like cream, or taupe) rather than as a pastel, and I find it's a lot easier to think of styling suggestions if I have that mindset. I do wear my turquoise moto a lot so I know the shape will work for me.

ETA: also this ensemble:

Yup - goes with olive, burgundy, navy, black, grey... I was thrilled to realize how well it works with pale grey because I love grey, but blush flatters me much better.
I thought I was going to hate this season of pastels, but am now loving blush and cream, which are quite flattering on me, as well as pale denim washes. I feel quite on trend without touching mint, blue or lilac.

And ooh, don't forget tomato red. I don't have that in my closet but it makes a great combo with blush!

Shannon, this is exciting! As a fellow "shortie" who is also short-waisted and has small shoulders, I know what a nightmare it is trying to find stuff that fits right. The shoulders always do me in. Plus, I have a very small bosom, so all that fabric...urgh. I can't wait to see how the jacket looks on you!

I'm so jealous that we don't have Danier in the States. But I know you don't have as good of exchange policies and shipping policies up in Canada as we do here, so you definitely deserve some shopping "crown jewels" of your own!

Some ways I've worn mine:
with cream silk blouse, dark denim and snakeprint shoes
with bright pink cropped trousers, dark cream blouse, metallic flats and navy handbag
with light, distressed BF denim, dark pink tee and blush snakeskin slip-on sneakers
with a lavender printed pencil skirt, snakeskin pumps and white blouse

Really, you can try any color that plays well with blush as a faux neutral (like blue or lavender), or other shades of pink. I've also found that snakeskin usually picks up the hue nicely.

I think Danier owes me a commission...:-)
Can't wait to see this beauty on you, gals!

Jules and Jenava - great styling ideas. Thanks!

Gigi - yes, at least we have Danier - and you have Nordstrom!

Sveta - oh they SO owe you big time! I wonder if they're wondering what the heck is going on with this rush of blush moto sales?

Oh, and to add to Jules color suggestions - I found a nice juice bright orange-red (a variation on the tomato red which I can NOT wear) goes splendidly with blush.

ETA - shannon, I often wonder if retailers ever see a YLF-effect. For instance - remember the ponte Halogen colored pencil skirt from a few years back? I think almost everyone bought one, and many of us bought the yellow one from the second run (I also have a dark purple one from the first Anniversary sale that it appeared in). There has to have been a blip, right??

I wear my blush moto primarily paired with black and white. It looks particularly good with light denim as well as white. But blush goes with so many colors really! I don't really have any of my photos (they're stuck on a corrupt drive that I'm slowly working on recovering), but here's what I have handy

Shannon! I bought this blush moto too! Just today. I have to wait to have the sleeves shortened.

I tried to do the blush thing in a cheaper way (Forever 21 blazer, Jacob knit blazer - all ugh!) so I popped into Danier and it was all over - had to have it. It's my first leather jacket

Thank you Sveta!!

WOW - the lemmings have taken over!! And may I just say that I am SO tempted myself.....

I didn't realize a had a pink blush wardrobe hole until I read this post, and checked out the Danier web site....oh my....resistance may well be futile

And if it wasn't for the gold hardware, I might even consider trying this one on myself... but I just don't do gold. No matter what.

Phew! Maybe I can keep my Danier sales this spring to only one :).
