I just got the Boden catalog and thought this clutch was so cute. I'm trying to figure out how the heck I could justify it. Not coming up with much. Maybe someone else can use it!

I saw that bag too JJ, and I am swooning over it. I also can not justify it right now, but maybe later in the season it will go on sale.

Boden accessories ALWAYS go on sale at the end of the season. Keep an eye on it. If it doesn't go on sale by the end of spring, it will definitely go on sale by summer. It's worth the wait. It's super cute and would be a sweet piece to have for the right occasion.

I agree. I noticed the bag in the catalog too. I immediately thought of Ana when I saw it. But it does seem like a steep price for a fabric clutch.

I was a little disappointed with the Boden catalog--they have so many empire seams still--I was really hoping that style was on the way out! I also think their bold crazy prints are adorable on models, but they can look a little silly on real people in the real world.

Ha, Nicole, thank you! I saw it and actually added it to my wishlist. I love it! I'm going to do as Maya says and stalk it for awhile to see if it goes on sale. Juli, I think that might be a good plan for you as well. What color are you thinking of getting? I can't decide between the red and the teal.

I actually don't like Boden's prints for the opposite reason as you Nicole: I don't find them big and bold enough. They are always floral and kind of small to me. This one is cute though:

This is more my kind of print. I prefer one big bold statement than lots of piddly little flowers all over the dress:

Unfortunately it would definitely be too long for me, and hemming it isn't an option.

That bag is super cute! My fav from the catalog was this rosette sweater (and it looks cute with the clutch in red):

I also liked a lurex sweater in that brown color called mole (is that mole, as in the furry animal, or mo-lay, as in the Mexican sauce??). It's in the catalog but not online yet.

And this skirt, in dark denim - you could order it in "long" length to get it to hit at the knee:

Nicole, you are right: there are way too many empire-style dresses and tops in the catalog for my liking.

My main issue with Boden is the distinctiveness of the prints. I had a shirt from them once and every time I wore it, I felt like it was screaming "FUNKY BODEN PRINT."

Whenever a retailer I like comes up with a line for a new season, I like to look through it, pick a couple of favorites and put them on my wish list, which ends up being huge! I usually only end up buying 15 % of what's on the list, but it is sure fun making it!

That clutch is one of the most beautiful things I've seen in ages. I don't think Boden exists in Canada, but it's going on my wish list anyway. I love the yellow skirt Tanya linked to, and the rosette cardi, and the skirt Maya linked to in the "Ink" colour.

I liked the button thru skirt too. I earmarked a few pages in the catalog--but have not really looked online. I think my issue with their stuff is it looks good in print or online, but it really does not fit into my lifestyle. I might try the white jeans though.

I'm glad you all like it so much and I will be stalking along with Antje, Ana & Tanya for the clutch in Red. Laura - I've also got that cardi on my list in the red and white stripe, I think it would look super cute with white jeans.

Okay so agreed that we are all stalking the rosette cardi, a couple of different skirts, maybe jeans for Nicole, and most of all: The Clutch!

The downside of watching Boden for a sale is that (correct me if I'm wrong) they don't have their sales til very late in the season.

The clutch is very pretty. I noticed many popular items do sell out, so I hope it doesn't happen to it. I also got the catalog and I am disappointed by the dominance of empire waists. I agree with Nicole and Laura on their prints. I have one Boden coat that has red lining with huge white polka dots that makes me feel self-conscious :). Overall I tried to like Boden, but their stuff just doesn't work well for me, and I can quite explain why... maybe it's too casual, or maybe it's the colors? I really like their kids' clothes, but I find them overpriced.

SO PRETTY. I like the teal bag best. It's a Valentino knock-off and a blimin” good one.

I love the feel and look of the Boden catalogue but have yet to purchase anything from there. Their things don’t personally work for me but I see closets full of Boden pieces that work well for other people. Happy staking ladies !

Adorable bag! My experience is not great with Boden . I bought a leather bag from them and returned it because the quality was not great for the money. Their styles and colors are cute but I would wait for a sale. That bag would need to be really well made to last for a while IMO.
