Update - the skirt doesn't fit, too big on me. So I'm going to send it back. I did like the way it looked, but not really paired with my Birks. That was a bit too earthy after all. But I'm really happy with the other new skirt, so I'm not too sad.

Ah. No 90's Astrid then.
Are you set for Summer? I think I am.

That's quite normal to give preference to different styles at different time. There is no need to limit yourself with only one style direction when there are so many style choices.
I think that's ok to have different wardrobes for, let's say, work days and for weekends.
I also prefer more formal style for the office (classic or preppy style) while trying to look less formal on weekend dressing up with a feel of boho style.

Late to post but glad you are trying the skirt - and I think the batik navy white top in your pinterest page is also really great! I agree that you do have a slight boho slant, so why not indulge it a little. The only thing I wasn't sure about with the skirt is the color of it, but wearing it with a deep charcoal tank would likely be a good match with your hair bookending the skirt.

Skylurker, I have to say the few really hot days had me scrambling a bit. I'm not finished shopping summer stuff yet I think. We'll see.

Real_me, that's true. But I did try to limit my style direction in the past, mostly because I have a small wardrobe and a limited budget (still a student) and need things to be versatile and mix and match well. That's much easier when you're picky about styles and go for one overall look.

Thanks Texstyle - the skirt didn't work out, but I definitely plan to indulge my boho side more often going forward. I think it will be fun!

Oh how I understand you! Known I'm wearing an office skirt, formal shirt (knotted up at my belly) and trainers Funny, conflicting styles can usually create very interesting combinations, don't limit yourself!
