cocktail dress for high school reunion

Hello all,

Ugh. My first high school reunion (ten years) is coming up on Thanksgiving weekend. I've been shopping like mad and I thought I had settled on the dress below (found at a consignment shop! ), but I'm hesitant about whether the color is flattering...Thoughts? What color shoes?? First and 2nd pic are accurate to the color. Third pic (with flash) shows how it looks when light hits.

Other options are a taffeta cobalt blue dress I may be bringing home next week (they are sending for my size from another store) but it has cap sleeves that are questionable with my arms...And something about it felt a little old for me but I love the blue and it's on clearance for $23 (!!) .... http://tinyurl.com/ylltqsm (this link is not exact -- slightly different neckline and teal instead of cobalt -- but as close a picture as i could find).

And..... I have a black dress I could accessorize, if need be. But I really wanted to wear something more interesting than black.

The first dress is a beautiful fit and colour i'd wear that. I'd say it's a neutral so any colour accessories would go. What colour shoes, bags etc do you already have to work with? x

Jessica - you are gorgeous. THanks for posting pix. I love the first dress and the black dress. The first one you can accessorize with just about anything. Black, red, hot pink, blue. What colors are you partial to?

Thanks for the comments! The only shoes I have that go are a patent silver/gray (pic below). The dress does have this muted gray tone in it and is fairly muted overall, in person, so anything bright seems to clash. Hard to describe, but it's almost silver and gold at the same time. I don't know that I'm partial to any colors. I've been wearing lots of blue and teal lately but I love reds and pinks and oranges, too. I think what I'm hoping to find are some vintage accessories (I had originally wanted a vintage dress). So anything that makes it more original is the goal, I guess.

Also, ideal to find would be a vintage clutch that adds some color and some kind of cropped coat or wrap. My dressier coats consist of a car length red tweed or a black wool capelet (similar to this http://www.belladermmedspa.com.....apelet.jpg) neither of which seem right.

P.P.S. Do I dare try something other than nude hose?? Just throwing the thought out there.

Your first dress and shoes are simply stunning, are your vintage earings clip on? If so you could maybe try wearing them on the dress like Charlize Theron at the 2000 Oscars

As to the first dress, I would not go crazy with the accessories, as the dress is already quite of a statement! I would choose very simple earrings, nude sheer hose and sandals

Wow! I love the first bronze frock! So gorgeous on you.

I adore the vintage route: black micro fishnets, black heels, black cutch and garnet or ruby inspired jewelry! Add a black wrap too.
