closet clean out and some thinking ahead

Since joining YLF I have learned a few things. One of the most important is letting myself purge. I am getting much better at getting rid of things that do not work for me,even though I may like them. I have just started this for 2017, and am finding that I have far fewer items this year than in the past-wardrobe getting better-shopping better????

Even though it is too early for spring purchases, and not knowing what trends may be, I have a few thoughts about what I want. For starters I am looking for a longer blaze (maybe like a boyfriend blazer) Is that a classic? In a light neutral. a lace top like the one in the tuxedo photo, flat cut out or perforated booties in a light neutral, and some less than 3 inch sandal type booties like the photos, but lower heels.

That is my favorite style of bootie! But I need a lower heel as well. I have this pair below in black in my Nordstrom shopping cart. They are Munro Nakita's. Look to be on the same last as the Abby so heel is approximately 2".

I am doing a major purge too. I love the shoes you have picked. Sadly I could never wear heels like that. Those days are gone.

I have the opposite problem with purging. I'll purge something and then hate myself for it later. This ill-thought-out purge usually takes place sometime in summer, when I get rid of nice warm sweaters because I'm hot and just looking at wool makes me itchy and grumpy. A few months later, the temperature drops below 65 and I become a meat popsicle and I start kicking myself in the backside for getting rid of my warm clothes.

This sounds like progress to me, for sure. And I love your emphasis on the footwear. It obviously worked with your fab red shoes! In my opinion getting the footwear right pretty much makes an outfit feel great.

I also love that stye of sandal. It is very supportive and the block heel is stable. I wore these Franco Sartos to the ground this year, and the black Steve Maddens the previous year were another hit. So check out those brands as well.
