I have to agree with you and vote return on both. They both look too big to me, and the back pockets look like they're hitting you too low on the clamdiggers. What brand are these?

I'd return them both too. Both pairs are quite big on you, and I agree w/you abt the back pockets. This low pocket placement has been an ongoing issue lately. I don't know who would benefit from such a low pocket?? Like women don't have enough issues with their bums!! I think women all over the world should stop buying pants with bum pockets that fall anywhere below their bum. Maybe THEN they'd stop putting them there! Heck, bum pockets are useless on women anyway.

The jeans are Boden and the clams are Ben Sherman. Maybe British brands just aren't for me. The clams would have fit well but they were slipping down on me because the waist is too big. The hips/thighs are fine though, when the pants are up where they're supposed to be. But the pockets make them a reject.

I had the low pocket problem with the J Crew Matchsticks too, and I'm surprised they get such rave reviews here. I feel like I'm the only one who found them to be ill-fitting.

Nope, not the only ones: I found the matchsticks ill-fitting too. Yes, the pockets were too low. They were adorable on my DD, who's more of a pear. Her hips filled them out better, keeping the pockets higher and where they are supposed to be. Even if I had more hips, the pockets were way too large for me - my other pet peeve.

I also vote return, both pairs look too big. Btw matchsticks didn't work for me either.

That's funny Shiny. I actually found the Matchsticks too straight for me. The pockets were too low because I couldn't lift them up enough in the back. I filled them out a little too much. They do vary a lot from one season to another though, so maybe the ones you got were from another season.

I guess it's best that both pairs go back, so I don't feel as guilty for splurging on the EM boots.
