Clams and Cons: can it be done?

Total blind guy question here, for which I apologize. Is it possible to wear converse and clams without looking ridiculous? I.E. Are cons without socks acceptable, or does that just look weird?
Hoping to get this resolved on time for my first outing with Reva this morning. Thanks!

Michelle, I do not think cons work well with clams or skinnies after a certain age. It is a teenage look. Somehow they stand out too much as a statement. I wear cons only with bootcuts for this reason. (But I am also older than you). They also make my feet look big, bootcuts take care of that issue. Others may have different opinions. Do you have a walking shoe like a maryjane or ballet flat? It is probably too hot for jeans if you are opting for clams. By the way, Reva sa indescribably beautiful!!!

Thanks, Jean. You know that's how I feel about it too.

How are things going in NJ with Reva, Michelle?

I agree with Jean and Angie Michelle. And I wanted to wish you a successful and joyful first outing with Reva. I just saw the picture and I'm melting away!!! I love, love, love labradors, and her black coat looks so beautiful. And those eyes....

Thanks, girls. Glad I followed my instincts and didn't wear that combo this morning (white jeans with cons in the AM, white clams with pewter ballet flats in the PM). The ballet flats aren't ideal when walking around with a new dog whose motions are unfamiliar, so it looks like I'll be stuck with long pants most of the time. At least it's not humid here!

Things are going well, thanks for asking Angie! She really is a total sweetheart and I'm pleased with her work so far.
