Chocolate Capri pants: how to wear?

I've been looking for dark brown summer bottoms for a couple of years and found these at a new store opening ( Scheels). They are from Lee and come in several colors, but I can't find them online to collect. Photo 1 shows them rolled the way I wore them. 2 is the way they look naturally, sort of cargo pants without the leg pockets. 3 shows the way they might look if shortened a bit. Which looks best? Other ideas?
Top was thrifted a few years ago and my all time favorite summer knit. I usually don't go for this kind of embellishment but for summer it works well. I think I like it because it is beads rather than bling. Too frumpy? Bag was also thrifted. Is this casual outfit worth repeating?

I like the pants and your top goes well with it.....
I like blue and brown...A blue button shirt with your pants...I just found a blue chambray at Gap and would love it with brown...You done good with these....smile..

i'm not much of a brown person, but i do love a column of color….this is perfect for summer.

I also like all three lengths. love the shoes. I have an old pair of brown cargo pants that I still wear occasionally, and I like them with my blue chambray shirt.

The cargos are nice on you - and really, all three lengths work. Can I be honest and say that the t doesn't say "current" to me? I like the idea of a shell/bead trim too, but I think this type of top looks a little dated. Personal opinion only , and it does fit you perfectly and works well with the pants. I love Scheel's. As a sporting goods store, it's tough to beat.We don't have that chain in Canada, and it's one of the first stores I go to when we hit Minneapolis or Fargo.

Could the pants go even shorter? Say above the knee to look more like a city short?

I usually try to respond to opinion questions before reading other responses so I am not influenced.

I prefer the shorts as they are worn in the first picture. The roll narrows the leg and in my opinion makes then a bit nicer for proportion and a bit less casual. They fit you very well and the bag is perfect with the outfit.

Shedev, Always Trying, Smittie, Lisap, Shannon.stl and Cheryle, thank you for your thoughts on the length. 1 & 2 are the easiest to manage. Shannon, I'm not sure that I want to go above the knee but do like a city short that hits on the knee. I guess that is what I was aiming at in #3. I'll try a shorter length to see how it looks. My knees are not attractive.
Kkards, I tried to purge brown from my wardrobe but then missed it very much.
Lisa, I value your honest opinion. That is what I wanted because I had doubts about the top. I'll keep an eye out for a more modern one.
I think Scheels will be a good addition to the area and such fun for children with the huge indoor Ferris wheel and big walk-through saltwater aquarium., bowling alley and more.
You have given me some ideas for these cargos. They seem to fit well and are very comfortable.

I'm terrible with brown. I am going to say that find that kind of embellishment a bit Chicos-style - I got rid of a dress like that because it felt wrong somehow, like it was trying too hard to be more than one thing. The fit of the capris is great on you! How about citron on top?

Thank you, Una. I see the Chico's connection and have no desire for that look. Citron is a good idea, My silk citron top may dress the outfit up more, which is fine. I also have an EF linen top in a sort of heat here'd citron that could work out.

Yes that beautiful citron draped silk top would be stunning!

I like the pants best as they are in #2. While I do love a column of color, this all brown look isn't very attractive. Yes, everything fits you very well. But I'd wear the pants with a white, cream, red, yellow or blue top. The sandals look good here.

Two of my fave colors to mix with chocolate are lime green and deep saturated hot pink. I also think orange pairs well, in a smallish dose and it might pop this top, too. I like the column of color you have going here. The slightly gearish look of the pants are cool in my book. Not everything needs to be sleek and urban. I love Scheel's for all sorts of sporty casual looks.

I think that I prefer the length of the pants in 2. More capri/clam digger style.

While I very much get what everyone is saying about the "chico-esque" nature of the embellisments on the top, I still rather like it - such a textural and summery element to it. And it does fit and flatter you beautifully. Maybe it would look more current with off-white jeans and a "pop-of-color" bag, like the citron or blue suggested by others?

Elizabeth, thank you. I'm liking that length too. It seems to add some volume to my legs where it is needed.
Ryce, those are great ideas. I have always gone earthy with this top but love brown and white together.
