You make dressing look effortless--even in the heat! I love the outfits you put together. Very inspiring. I have the same dress from Target in the blue floral and I always feel like I'm wearing a house dress. You make it look fab! You do a great job choosing colors too--I bet you're a phenomenal dyer!

I commented on most of these on your blog, I think, but seeing them together really shows the versatility of your wardrobe. You get a great bang for your buck! You should post the date outfit with your jean jacket on too, because I LOVED that most of all; the proportions were just perfect. (Okay, I just did it for you, LOL.)

Actually, that is something to think about as you continue down the scale; your body is really changing and thus the proportions of your outfits (where the tops hit on your waist/hips, the length of your skirts/clams/pants, etc) need to reflect that. That was one of the biggest surprises to me as I reached my final body size; what I thought was my absolute body type and shape had changed significantly. For instance, I never knew how long my torso was before, and that affects my top lengths a lot. But it wasn't until I started playing with different clothes shapes that I realized this!

I think for you, if you lift your skirt hem to your knee and keep/lower your top length so it lands at your hip, it's going to change the balance of everything. Compare this date photo to the one on your blog, for example, and I think you might see what I mean.

I love the waistcoat outfit. You have just the right combination of romantic and edge in that one. I agree with you that the gladiators look better with something just a hair shorter.

You look wonderful. I espec. love the black Target skirt with the ruching. Can you tell me any info. that I might use to find one for myself? My only concern might be the skirt length as I a in my earlier 50's and desperately need a simple flattering black skirt that isn't above my knee. Would this qualify?

kellygirl- "effortless" was one of my goal words for style, so that's nice to hear.

Kristen- thanks so much for the comment. I'm not sure that I understand, though. Those two photos are the same top/skirt- it's a high waisted skirt, so I tucked the top in. There may be a slight difference between them because one was taken earlier in the day in what I thougth I was going to wear, but it was too hot still so I took another picture in what I actually wore. When you talk about raising the skirt length, are you talking about the polka dot dress? I assume you're referring to the jacket length in the one photo; is that right? Trying not to be obtuse, but I find your comments really helpful so I just want to be clear.

Laura- the clams from Lands End started out as a full length jeans, and I just hemmed them up.

Alecia- that is one of my favorites, too. I couldn't resist those flowers when I saw the top.

April- thanks I was meaning to add it to that thread, and you made it that much easier for me.

Angie- I'm surprised! I really prefer the glads with a shorter length. If I weren't already shrinking out of that dress, I would probably have it hemmed. I don't think it's worth it at this point, though. The armholes are starting to bag just a bit.

What a great week you've had! I love that beautiful blue top with the ATL waist coat! The gorgeous neckline detail adds some femininity to the more masculine vest. Perfect!

The coral top in your grocery shopping outfit really complements your skin tones and your Target dress is lovely on you.

yes, I did mean raise the hem on the polka-dot skirt, sorry for not saying that directly! The skirt for date nigh is the perfect length for your legs.

I like date night with the jacket better than without b/c the jakcet is longer. Just the blouse cuts you off at the wrong point on your torso. Does that make sense?

Also love the floral detailing of the tank with the white vest. So pretty and just the right amount of busyness.

50 and stylish- I think we must have posted at the same time. That skirt from target might work for you, I wear ia higher than my waist, so if you brought it dpown it might cover your knee. It just depends on your body porportion. If you have aTarget near you, give it a try- they are only $10.

Late to chime in. You had a great weak and my favorite is the date outfit, too. I think I like it a little better with the ballet flats. Your legs look longer and leaner.

Khris, you are looking wonderful and slimmer every week! All your outfits were perfect for hot weather, but my favorite was the dress with the bit of aqua cami and fab necklace and glads.

Hi Chewy, My favorite was the outfit with the white vest. I also like the top with the halter style collar that you wore for date night.

I agree with Bella regarding the ballet flats, I think they give you more leg length. But I completely understand about the heat - it was 100 degrees last week where I live!
