Very nice and nice to have DH on board.
I am coveting your wedge heels too.

Thumbs up...YLFI can't imagine that dress won't get some more use. Classic, simple, fits like a glove. Seems to me like a perfect dress to have at the ready.

I had to re-read your post to believe it. That's the dress you bought on the fly? yowza. It looks better on you than on the model.

The dress looks fabulous on you!

Completely amazing. I WANT that dress (but need shoes instead.)
Hope the presentation went well!

Fantastic! Exquisite! You look even better than Claire, because your heels aren't as steep, which is much better because much more plausible. You look smashing, powerful yet at ease.

Love love love!
I have a thing for dresses, and this is fab.
I sometimes top my dressier options with a denim jacket (white or blue) which means it is day-to-day work wearable, rather than just "big presentation" wearable. Mind you, this looks so good you could wear it anytime, IMO!

Oh yes!! Power(dress) is better than all:-).

Wow! Speed shopping success!! You look fab, and I bet you smashed the presentation as well.

That dress looks as though it was made for you, it fits beautifully . What a score when you were in a bind. I always like navy for a work environment.

Stunning, Vivian -- absolutely love it on you. Yet I understand why it might be difficult to wear outside of presentations. Our casual lives...sigh....

Sveta's right that this is your year of dresses. So wonderful!

What a happy accident! And how fortunate you were to see a Reiss and have the style knowledge to realize it was the place to go! DH doesn't realize how long he could have been stuck in a chair outside a dressing room, lol.

The fit is spot on and it seems to be made to flatter you -- great power dress!

Perfect dress on you. And loving the hair.

The dress looks amazing on you! And I'm amazed you were able to find it at the last minute. What shoes are you wearing? I like those as well!

Stunning! Definitely a power dress look, and one that you could wear for dressy or business occasions. I confess, I sometimes pine for the life that would entail this kind of dressing. Often I long specifically for a position that would call for power-dressing but not the actual work such a position would entail.

Just catching up with this posting....that dress is just amazing on you. Great fit, great color, YLF!!! And I love the idea of you channeling Claire Underwood...I love HOC almost as much for her "wrapped tight" wardrobe and personality as I do for the other characters, plots, intrigue etc.

That's a great dress. You could dress it down for work with a loafer. Or dress up for a night out with ankle strap pumps and jewelry. You look fantastic.

Fabulous! You look powerful and stunning.
Amazing that you found it that fast. I would have been in a panic.
That said, I have left some of our dress clothes hanging on the closet door. Because it was a multiple outfit weekend we were able to make it work.
Funniest-my husband brought his suit jacket with our son's pants. The waist fit, but they were quite short. Luckily no one really looked at his legs as the cocktail hour was crowded, and then his legs were under the dinner table.

Thank you for all the boosts, everyone, and thank you for the great ideas for helping give this dress some longevity. It's helping me see how to alter it a bit.

Sveta: This has definitely been my year for dresses! So strange. But I need to keep my midsection tone for the more fitted ones (which worries me a bit). And as for the Reiss blazer, I am checking on that today!

CocoLion: I had wondered if I could wear this to a summer wedding, and I have some orangey-red high strappey sandals that I think might really make it work. Thanks for pushing me in that direction. (That makes it more cost-effective too.)

Lucy: With a denim jacket and my Quail sandals, this dress becomes much more casual. Great idea.

Ummlila: I thought of you while trying on dresses in Reiss! You were the angel on my shoulder!

Fab professional dress.

Fantastic! I LOVE both the hair and the dress!
