Sara L -- very similar to your situation.
We drove to CT to stay at a relative's house before taking the train in to NYC for the weekend, and from there I caught a flight to DC. In CT, I took in my presentation outfit and hung it up in the room we stayed in. But in the morning when I packed up my things to head out for the train, I left it hanging there. Later that day, in the middle of a Broadway show (Fun House, BTW, SUPERB) it dawned on me: that damn outfit was still hanging in CT!!! So, after dinner (where we saw Steven Tyler) our cab was taking us to Bloomingdales and I was trying to figure out how to muster the energy to shop (15,000 steps on my fitbit at that point!). We passed a Reiss, and I said: "Stop!" Ran in, and 10 minutes later walked out with this. DH was extremely supportive because of how hard I have been working -- ordinarily he would definitely have balked at the price tag.
Angie, I can wear this for certain work events: presentations, major meetings, interviewing executives. But it's too dressy/intimidating for talking to consumers.
Lisap: Thanks for the slim / fit comment -- had to laugh, though. Hotel lighting working in my favor, plus a Spanx thong, I assure you. I am at the top of the range right now and no real tone.
