Wow! How wonderfully exciting! I haven't been around much myself so I am slow to reply. Congrats on your scholarship. What made you decide on Cultural Studies? Do you hope to teach or maybe you already do...I'm not sure. It sounds fascinating!
Jeannie, the main reason I opted for Cultural Studies is I can write a creative thesis (i.e. a book of poetry). I do not wish to teach or join academia. But I enjoy spending time in universities. The degree is really irrelevant to me; it's the opportunities for study that I want -- and the funding, which is better than arts funding.
