"Cargo" Clamdigger Outfit

Hi Everyone!

In Angie's blog post about cargo clamdiggers today, I mentioned that I had previously bought a pair at Zara to go with this whole sort of "romantic safari" look that I wanted to put together. I saw a blouse from BR in Lucky magazine that I really liked, and the clamdiggers were only $20, so I thought it would be fun to try them out. Angie asked me if I could post the outfit to the forum, so I took a picture of it today.

The pants aren't really cargos, since they don't have side pockets. The shoes are kind of a risk because the vamp is so high, but when I tried the outfit with some other sandals I had, it just lacked a certain edge that I felt I got with the snake sandals.

Would this outfit be considered "smart casual" you think? Anyway, I hope you all like it. Thank you. :)

LOVE!

The bag! The shoes! The pants! EVERYTHING is perfect. Looks like something on the Sartorialist (that isn't as sloppy or outlandish as what he frequently posts). I totally want to copy you on this (minus the shoes, because they would destroy me). I'm so glad I had second thoughts about my cargos (which like yours, aren't really cargos).

Gorgeous, Ana! I think the edgier sandals with the romantic top work well, with the sleek version of cargos in between.

The fabrics are more delicate and dressy, and the shoes and bag complete it. Its definitely smarter than my outfit I posted, so I'd call it smart casual.

PS Your hair looks lovely too. ;)

Everything about that outfit is DIVINE. The heels add that perfect edginess, and I can see why you had to get the pants. They're killer on you!

The outfit is KILLER and I expected nothing less! Have you lost weight? LOVE the new blonde streaks! Very fab. Are those shoes comfy?

That outfit is totally smart! What an excellent combination of casual, romantic, and edgy. I especially like your accessories -- the cuff, handbag, and shoes. This is an outfit I would totally love to rip off :)

I love it, Ana! I don't remember seeing those at Zara...there *is* a lot of stuff in there.

Gorgeous in every way! The sandals and cuff on your wrist are killer!! So
Out of Africa" in a completely cutting edge way.

Oh, it's so good to see you post a photo on the forum again :)

Hey, Ana...good to see you again (as has been mentioned a few times already)! I love that outfit. You look great! Hope you're doing well.

Thank you so much, everyone! I'm glad you liked the outfit. Maya, feel free to copy it. :) I definitely think you could pull it off, especially since you already have the pants. I can't wait to see what you put together with them.

Angie, the shoes are only 4 hour shoes. They're fun though. I'm looking for something with a similar feel that would be 8 hour shoes to replace them. I've been on yoox and am very excited about their shoe selection so far. Lots of cute flats and lower heels. :) Have you ever bought anything off that site? I have lost weight, but I gained weight first, hee hee. So now I'm back to the same as I was when I was posting outfits. Thank you for noticing though. :)

My hair is thanks to my stylist. He's just doing what he wants with it now, lol. The dark brown has washed out, so this is my natural color, with a few subtle blonde streaks. I have an appointment on Friday though, and we're doing highlights. I'm going to just let him do them however he wants. It'll be a surprise! :D

Thank you again, everybody!

I LOVE everything about your outfit, Ana! You look fantastic as always. I'm so glad you found the clams you were looking for. Did you get a new handbag too?

This feels almost like Christmas morning: Tanya's back, Dani's posting pictures again, and now I see your pictures too. I'm so glad you're back too Ana!!

And OMG!!!! You look like you stepped out of a fashion magazine! Everything is just perfect and it WORKS on you! (no, let me rephrase that, you are working that outfit!!)
I'm a little jealous here: I think I've said this before, you truly have an innate sense of style, and always seem to wear your clothes with such confidence. And that of course is the extra touch.

Cargo pants will probably look awful on me, but now I'm sorely tempted to copy this look, just because you look so STUNNING in it.

(Gorgeous accessories too! And your hair! WOW!)

Ana, Perfect, simply perfect. I mean can there be a better adjective than perfect? Or simply supercalifragilisticexpialidocious...lol

I'm completely in awe of your innate sense of style and confidence. Thank you for such awesome inspiration :-)

Just had to add that everyone here is making me smile at how happy they are to see you posting again, Ana :) And the Christmas morning comment from Inge couldn't have been better put.

Wow, thank you again, ladies! I'm definitely blushing. I will try to post more outfits, now that it is summer and I have a bit more time. :D

Sarah, I went back later with another friend because she hadn't been and wanted to see it, and that's when I saw them. They were on a sale rack that I don't remember being there when we went earlier. Patience, I've had the handbag for a while, but I don't think you guys have seen it...I can't remember. I got it at Aldo (yay for cheap bags). :)

Thank you again!
