I had knee surgery this spring and have significantly changed my gait with the recovery (in a good way). But many of my old shoes, including almost all my winter boots, are uncomfortable now. I can feel my foot sitting in the wrong position because of how the shoes have broken in. I've come to the sad realization that I will need to replace most of my boots, sneakers and some of my sandals over the next year. I didn't notice until recently because I've been practically living in some Birkenstocks and loafers I bought this summer, but the recent weather change has been eye-opening.

If this were you, what would you replace first? What would you prioritize, since I can't afford to do it all at once? I've got a casual lifestyle and can't wear heels over 1". And any suggestions for brands or shoes that suit wide, high volume feet would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!
