I love them, too! I have two vintage ones given to me by my husband's great aunt. They must be at least 75 yrs old and I love to pin them on my coats in the winter, especially around the holidays.
Oh my Debora those are beautiful brooches.
I am over 50 but I have a love of brooches and I really like the idea of pinning them on a clutch or waistband besides just the lapel.
I'm sure they can look lovely but no, I never wear them. No doubt some women can look amazing in them. I have a vintage Cartier gold and sapphire brooch from my late mom and I've never worn it... but I hope that I will some day, once I figure out how to make it work.
I went through a major Brooch Phase so have a nice collection but lately have not been wearing. The new thing is to hook a brooch onto your necklace/pearl strand and that looks very up to date.
I hate that "rule" thing. It always makes me want to find great examples of the opposite
"Mac, I am drooling over that one,!!!" Thanks, I know it sounds lovely but I don't think it looks as good as it ought to with that description. And I just cannot figure out how to make any brooch, not just that one, look half-decent on me.
Well, I'm 25 and I love brooches! I don't wear them so much lately because I did the look TO DEATH while I was in university- I would wear multiples at a time! I still have some great ones though, and I'm sure they'll come out again someday.
I love brooches, too- and under 50. I do like them on a string of pearls or clumped on a jacket lapel. They also look cute in the center of a bow on something that has a tie.
