Thanks, Debora! I'm in love with that dress too - that was actually one of Angie's dress picks, not from today's post but from the one last week. I ordered it the day after her post came out and I'm very glad that I kept it!
Good eye, Dianthus. My hair hasn't been cut recently - actually, it's a little out-grown - but as it grows out it's behaving differently. I color it on my own and gave it a fresh conditioner-infused rinse over the weekend, so it's a bit brighter.
Angie, those comments made my week! And I hope you can pat yourself on the back too, given that 3/4 of my old-or-new favorite dresses featured in this post were your specific recommendations. YLF has really inspired me to become a dress girl. I can't believe that I wasn't before!
Sopranomom, thanks so much! I'm reasonably comfortable with some pattern mixing now, but it took a lot of practice before it stopped feeling costume-y when I wore it. Academichic (no longer updated, but still a great resource) really helped me get a handle on how I could be creative but not too far overboard with pattern mixing: http://www.academichic.com/cat.....-patterns/
Dresslover, officially I'm still well within the bounds of our dress code. We say that we're "business casual" but jeans are acceptable M-F. We can't wear shorts, sweats, logo shirts, hats, or flip flops, but most other items are fair game. Basically we dress by Angie's "smart casual" dress code. So unless something changes, I'm not going to give up my patterns or micro-fishnets!
I'm glad too, Christy. It's good to be on the upswing again, finally.
Midwest Girl, the shoes in pictures #1-2 are Nicole heeled oxfords and are a couple years old, and out of stock. These have kind of a similar vibe, though: http://www.endless.com/Naya-JA.....aunch_date
