Bow ties

Has anyone bought a bow tie? I'm very intrigued by this (fringe?) trend and am curious to try it out. Not sure where to start - first, buying one (don't want to spend much money on this during the experimental stage) and then how to wear it. (I won't attempt Beyonce's look :-)) Has anyone tried this?

I have not gone there, but I do like it (and I seem to recall Angie talking about possibly rocking a bow tie this fall, after she was inspired by fall fashion week). Go for it!

I've had my eye on this look for a while, but I haven't tried it yet. I like the flowy, feminine versions (like the one in the middle), better than the stiff original men's bowties.

Those are great, Bella! I might try both kinds. I like these soft flowy ones, too - the effect seems a little closer to bowtie blouses, which I already own a couple of, but it is also different in that you have the color contrast and the more buttoned up collar. Very intriguing. I do also want to try the stiff kind for a more hard-core menswear look. We shall see!
Does anyone know where to get these - the stiff ones or the soft flowy ones? Don't ask me to craft something...

I think the Jason Wu style ones would be the easiest to pull off. You would just need a long black ribbon tied around the collar of a button front shirt.

I rocked a bow tie several times last winter. Mine is a men's bow tie from H&M; and I also wore an orange print Hermes sash as a bow tie!

This is on my list to try too! I've worn silk scarves tied in floppy bowties, but down lower so they look more like pussy-bow blouses. I really like the stiffer menswear bowties myself. I can totally see you rocking these Antje
