Boots over jeans? I need your feedback!

It's been a while since I had an outfit to share with the YLF forums- I feel like all I wear lately is a work uniform. But I've been wanting to try out the boots over jeans look and I'm still feeling a bit uncertain. I tried to follow the rules for pear-shaped girls by pairing them with a sweater dress/tunic. Let me know if this is working:

I guess my major insecurity is that the boots really hug my lower legs. I've always had heavier lower legs and usually try to keep them covered up with bootleg or wide-leg jeans, but with this look there isn't much hiding to be had! So, what do you think?

Lannie I think that you look great in both pictures! I don't see anything wrong with your lower legs. Well done!

Lannie, from the angle you have taken the picture I don't honestly have the best view of your lower legs. However, from what I can see I think you look super fab with the boots over skinnies and tunic. And I'm guessing that I'd feel the same way even with a more straight on photo.

Thanks for your responses! I tried to get some close-ups of the boots to give a better perspective (a trickier task than I thought it would be, so the quality of the pictures isn't great). They are actually flat boots:

and fabric (faux-suede) because I was trying to avoid leather. I know they won't be as sleek because of this, but I'm aiming for a very casual look anyway.

I am new hear...But I was wondering where did you get your boots from...my calves are on the big side...I think about 16 in circumference...I was just curious...

Hi fearless- I got the boots from Zappos, actually. They're by Gabriella Rocha. They were pretty inexpensive for boots because they're just stretchy faux-suede (hence why they can fit my calves).
