Finding and understanding your body type

Boot cut, or straight leg?

Hello,

I've never really given much thought into jeans, but through the blog and the discussions in the forums this wardrobe staple is quite a science...

I picked up two pairs of jeans through GAP's $20 (very sweet!) sale last week --

Lighter wash, boot cut: http://whatsinseason.wordpress.....otcut1.jpg

Dark wash, straight leg:

Here are the questions:

1. Should I keep either of them, and why/why not?
2. While we're here... what is my body type? :o)

Thank you so much!

Hi Winnie- you scored a sweet deal on jeans! They both look nice on you, but the straight leg in my favorite. I think you're probably an hourglass with rectangle tendencies like Angie.

Khris, is right! We have very similar body types. Slap bang in the middle of an hourglass and a rectangle. Not very curvy, but not curveless either.

Thanks for the pics, Winnie. The straight legged jeans are KILLER. And for that reason, you should get them :0)

Hi Winnie!

1. Straight-leg for sure. The wash in the first one is cute, but the cut is not as flattering. It bags too much at the knees. If you could find a bootcut that was tighter are your knees it would be fabulous, but I think those ones hide your nice legs too much.

2. Angie is the authority on this, and I agree with both her and CHewyspaghetti. You seem hourglassy leaning towards rectangle. Nice!

Welcome to YLF! ^_^

thank you for the comments! I think I will return the bootcut :) and feel like I've now learned a bit about jean fitting, hehe.

Dark wash, straight.

You have the figure for them,
and the wash is more fashion-forward.
