Yes you're right firecracker, the bf jeans probably vary in their design - I will try harder! Failing that, straight leg are my more relaxed jean as i normally wear skinny. I like flared too but dont want to look like i havent bought new jeans for 10 years which is a risk when youre middle aged!

It's funny to see this year old thread revived, because I think a lot of it has to do with trends and adjusting your eye to what's current. I think a lot of us were hesitant when skinny jeans came in, and how they'd look on the not so skinny of us. And you could argue that they're not the most figure flattering on everyone, but most of us started wearing them anyway. Same with boyfriend jeans; all I see in the trendy stores right now are boyfriend cuts and flares.

glisters, I bet your straight-leg jeans look just fine. It sounds like they play the role of a boyfriend jean for you, with their relaxed feel. You could try rolling the cuffs and wearing them boyfriend-style in the spring.
Laura, so funny--I didn't even notice this was an older, revived thread!

Ooh, my 2c on Laura's skinny jeans comment: I have yet so meet a woman who I thought couldn't benefit from skinnies. I think they look fab on everybody. Of course, it depends on the cut of the skinny and the rise, etc., but honestly, especially for the plumper and rear-heavy ladies, they really are more flattering than bootcut or flares [to my eye].
