I've known I was short waisted since I was very young and paired with a thick waist I always felt "fat" around my thin pear shaped long torso friends. They were always jealous of my long lean legs and I of their long and thin waists. I am 5'6" and just measured from my hip bone to the floor which is 43"! 43/66 is 65% so I am two-thirds leg! My crotch to floor is 33 inches which means my rise is 10"? The smallest part of my waist is inches below my bust and my lowest rib almost sits on my hip bone (there's maybe an inch there). Belly button is same height as my hips! The problem is my belly, even at my lowest weight it always sticks out a bit.

When I'm at my goal/happy weight of 130 lbs my measurements are 34-28-36 and at 140 lbs I am 35.25 - 29.25 - 37. Bust always 6 inches more than waist and hips always 8 inches more than waist. Not quite a rectangle, not quite an hourglass, definitely not a pear. I'm my own body shape I guess!

Will make a conscious effort to buy more V necks and shop in the petite section for shirts and dresses. I look awful in strapless dresses. I favor body hugging dresses as they cling to my waist and define it a bit. Any other tips?

P.S. this website rocks!!

I'm 5'3" and have become aware that none of my pants are PPL. I need a 30 inch inseam if I'm going to wear heels and at least 28" for flats. I haven't been able to find these inseams in petites in my size so I am going to try some Lands End pants because I can choose the inseam for those. If anyone knows where else you can buy pants and choose the inseams, that would be fun to know. Sometimes I try regular pants, to get the length, but I don't usually love where the waist lands on me and end up not wearing those pants.
