Boden Cozy Parka! Out of stock?? :(

Okay, so I ended up returning the faux fur trimmed anorak I got from Lord & Taylor because it was not waterproofed, and after our three days of rain last week I thought, hm, maybe I should try to find something that IS...

Enter, the Boden Cozy Parka. Naturally, the military green is out of stock in my size (6)...do they ever restock??

If it meets MOTG approval, should I try for the black? It might be not the most exciting color, but I can always dress it up with scarves, no? And black might be a touch dressier - can I suggest that about a parka? haha.

Hmmm.

On the positive side, I can see how this really could fit well with your style.

On the negative side, if you really want something to dress up, that coat, even in black, won't look dressy.

So it all depends how you want to wear it.

Are deliveries/returns free? If so, why not try the green in a 4? And order the black in 6. What can you lose?

MPJ, I've definitely seen items restocked before. You might want to stalk the website for a few weeks.

That said, I actually like both the black and the dark brown. Would either of them be as versatile in your wardrobe as the green?

In other news, I thought of you this week as I went Bodening. Love the wrap dress I ended up with:)

Ooooh, which dress, Beth? Did I miss a post? I guess black would go slightly better...although that being said, I already have a dressy black 3/4 length trench, so I kind of didn't want to duplicate colors...

Hm, now I'm dithering because the reviews complain that a 2-way zip would make the coat more comfortable when driving (or riding a bike - ha - not really my problem)...

Now I wish I could find a parka/anorak that has a 2-way zip that is also waxed cotton/oilskin AND a touch stylish. Perhaps a dream!

MJP, unfortunately, that is true of all coats and very few come with a two way zipper.

$7 to return... BUT you have 3 months to decide. If it were me, I'd try the 4 out. Probably not the black, since you don't want to duplicate colors.

Looking at the reviews, one woman usually wears 8-10 and found the 8 to fit with room to layer.

Thanks for your eagle eye, Rae - I had missed that! I ordered the 4 in the army green or whatever they are calling it. Fingers crossed it fits. I will also keep an eye open to see if they restock the 6. I decided on the Boden because I like the closure better. Snaps beats button loops any day of the week, plus, I don't like the zipper against my skin at the top, near the collar, on the Topshop one. With Boden, they have a nicely finished collar stand there. We'll see! I don't own any bulky sweaters, so I'm hoping the 4 will do the trick. Thanks for everyone's input in my 53 odd threads about parkas and anoraks. Maybe I'll shut up now.

Love the coat!! I have something like that in both green and black and honestly I find the black really versatile. You can wear other colors underneath, scarves are great and brown, cognac and taupe boots look great with it. I love the green also. Just putting in a vote for the black- much better than black wool that shows specs too easily.

It is also great if you are around dirt much???
