This is nuts. I saw this ball skirt at a retailer I would never shop at and fell in love with possibilities. So I went back today and styled the skirt to see what I could do with it and I LOVED it. it is loaded with tulle underneath and goes swish swish swish when I walk.

It came with a crazy sparkly crop top thing that I thought I would toss my daughters way, but when I tried it on it looked very good!

This ball skirt idea is something I have dreamed of and now it will be waiting for me come holiday time.

Any ideas of how else I could style this?

Mine is not near as lovely, but I wear it with a fuzzy red sweater for Christmas at home.

Oh, very elegantly dramatic.
Thinking mostly waist- defining or cropped. The white shirt idea- with collar drama. Cropped fuzzy sweater but luxurious. Bolero jackets. The zipped- up Jean or moto jacket- could try dressing down or use an embellished version. Some version of the white T shirt. Halter tops.

Jackie that's exactly why I pounced!! I like to have special occasion outfits ready and waiting instead of stressing out about what I am going to wear and how I am going to hunt it down. I have months and months left to shop for a dressy bustier or blouse and I should still have time to spare come holiday time.

This is gorgeous! I like the white shirt idea. I also think a simple, fitted thin knit would look good with a statement necklace or maybe jacket.

Oh Sharon yes a thin fitted cashmere 3/4 arm maybe In a a royal blue or cranberry color and then a great statement necklace and or earrings.

I have a very old (>15 yrs old) silver ball skirt in my closet. It's a bit tight but I really want to wear it to something now.

Wow! I was going to advice styling with a white shirt or a moto like Sharon Stone, Carolina Herrera used to(Angie's picties are gorgeous examples) AND the way you styled it here!!!! What's better than that??? You look killer gorgeous, and yeay for a dream comming true:-).

Striking skirt and a great purchase for the special events in life. Though I do think it is far too glamorous to wear with the humble denim jacket. Angie's photos with the white shirt and statement jewellery are wonderful and a faultless way to go. I like the idea of fine cashmere, silk or bejewelled top also. The possible options and colours are plentiful though I think classy and sumptuous rather than casual would work best.

What a fun skirt!

Try a fuzzy snug angora sweater in a jewel tone for something midway between dressy & casual.

I like the toughness of the denim jacket - try a punky Sex Pistols or David Bowie t shirt & a plaid cumberbund for 80's punk. I'm an edgy 80's girl at heart.
