Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Babydoll top - thoughts?

I am not fan of babydoll tops at all, but I really like this one for some reason, maybe beacuse it reminds me of Catherine Malandrino designs, which I adore:

So do you think that I can get away with it? The color is actually a bit lighter and brighter in reality. Please excuse the wrinkles, I have just unpacked it.

In the same shipment I also got a cream vest, so here's my first graphic tee outfit ( not accessorized yet), that I will be wearing when the weather permits:

Oh, and my tan is fake, leftover from the dance competition :)

Yes on both counts!

Gorgeous top!! Flatters your figure.

I also really like the white vest, and though the top is black and the boots are brown the cream vest seems to make the combination make sense! Lookin g ood!

Love the top - very interesting and flattering! And the vest looks great with the chestnut sort-of-slouchy boots :)

Love the top! It feels medieval to me. Very romantic (can you actually wear it in the Boston weather yet?). The vest is sharp too. Like it with your skinnies and boots.

I like both. I am not crazy about baby doll tops. I think most people are tiring of them but this one is definately different in shape and looks beautiful. It's a beautiful piece of work and the shape is great and not babyish.
Your vest outfit is great. I love it. It's done very well.

The top is gorgeous and looks great on you.
And I'm liking the vest / tee outfit a lot. Nice!!

Beautiful top! And fabulous graphic-T ensemble! Win-win.

I like the babydoll bit of the babydoll top, though wonder if the sleeves aren't too puffy as well? Really like to colour and the eyelet pattern though.

Your vest is great too. And those slouchy boots - nice!!! I was actually googling around brown slouchy boots last night as well. They are on my "to find" list as well!!

Love both looks! The babydoll top has so many interesting things going on with it -- the elaborate fabric, the puffy sleeves, the pretty trim, the rich color -- that it makes the shape of it secondary. That's what makes it work so well, methinks.

Love the graphic tee look too; the combination of all the neutrals -- cream, black, chestnut -- makes it look sophisticated and casual at the same time. Well done!

Tanya, I think the detail and intricateness of the first top, negates the fact that this top is a babdoll top. I can't wait to see how you wear it in an outfit.

I like the graphic tee--I think personally, I would prefer a darker vest with it though.

Thank you all very much for the replies. I am very happy that everyone likes it, despite the babydoll cut. I will have to wait for the warmer weather to wear it, although I tried it over a turtleneck and that didn't look that bad.
