Hey Family!

Did you know they have names for EVERYTHING now?

So baby wear is just carrying your baby in a sling or wrap close to the body. I'm almost 7 weeks post delivery but, I had yet to purchase a stroller or carrier besides the car seat. I know bad mommy. Lol not really.

There are so many on the market being plus size is an added challenge. Most stores dont have them out so you can try them on. I swear it's just like fashion. There is no one size fits all. After researching, reviews and youtube my brain kinda shut down.

Finally i just got tired of carrying the car seat everywhere. The weather is getting beautiful out here and I want us to go out. So I finally made a trip to the store to purchase. Armed with great information. So we are finally ready to be mobile.

My recent birthday I decided go wear you guessed it Camouflage and also baby nugget. I often time wonder how much different camo I have in my wadrobe. I'm starting to collect it for baby Zi'Joy also.

So here we are with our outing a small family lunch at a local restaurant for the birthday.

The dress I'm wearing is one of the few I kept and wore during pregancy. I donated a whole bunch of clothing to a plus size pregant mom.

I love your asym dress with the baby carrier! You both look fab! Camo suits you very nicely too.
I hope you will find a nice stroller. Carrying the baby in the car seat gets very heavy after a while. Plus, you will enjoy the outings much more and so will Zion.

That is great. I hear you on carrying car seats. It was a strain for me to carry my grandson in his car seat.
I like a lot of camp items- especially in grays, which is prolly not " real"-- but always felt I shouldn't wear it as non- military. Especially at work if in a VA hospital! I mention workwear even though camp is most often in casual/ gear, because some very polished items, such as a silk blouse, are sometimes offered in camo prints.
What's your take on " civilian" camp wear?

Ledonna, I'm so glad to see you wearing your babe! I've been an avid wrapper and slinger since my guy was born. And we still use an ergo-style carrier for hikes. There's a great forum community over at thebabywearer.com -- lots of how-to's, a resale section for secondhand carriers, etc. That's actually how I got back into fashion/style after childbirth -- searching out beautiful pieces of cloth for carrying my babe.

I carried both of my children util they were too heavy and my back started to protest. It's the best for the baby, in my opinion, to be so close to your skin! And you both look magnificent in your camo, specially Zi'Joy

Ledonna, you are loooking fab! Love the dress and the fun camo. Carriers were not very comfortable back when I had my kids, but my SIL uses them almost exclusively, even as the kids get older. I think they have come a long way.

Joyce i belong to a mom group over 40 on FB and someone posted a video of carrying a car seat. Iy has saved my body.

Unfrumped I think it is a wise decision NOT to wear it at work. I love that you work at the VA thank you for your service. I used to really hate seeing civilians in camo. Oh it is much easier now and I don't live near an Army base so its much easier. I think fashion camo is great. Most of tje older soldier vets wear hats with pins. That is NOT my flow.

Great dress, great carrier (the buckles make it easy, I find) and great camo.

It's like the LeDonna brigade I don't think you and ZJoy could look any cuter.

You are doing great! And Zion'Joy doesn't care whether you have a stroller or not, right?

It's INSANE how much stuff a little baby needs!

It's ok to love your camo and both dress in it.

My mom found a little tie dye onesie, in purple, blue, and green no less, for my DD as a baby. I do love a good tie dye.

And then there was the time I got her an animal print fedora and matching scarf. There is so much fun ahead!

You are both totally fab in camo and love the dress and baby wear. I have never worn camo simply because I would hate to insult veterans by wearing it in a frivolous way. Camo prints are super cool and my son at age 4 was totally into it, so that was my way of enjoying camo without wearing it myself.

So cute! I had several different types of slings/carriers because I got them as hand-me-downs. It took some experimenting to find the one that worked best for us. It depends on the baby too. My middle son hated them until he was big enough to be turned around so he could face out. When he was a newborn, he would just scream (he was a difficult baby and is still a somewhat difficult child - all drama all the time).

That's a very nice - and dare I say fashionable- baby carrier. I forget what we used to call them, but mine was a hideous big bird yellow with bright blue trim. The last baby I carried in it is 27 yr old today!

Cute! I'm petite and carried my baby everywhere for a few months, but it gets challenging as they grow and wiggle! You look fab! And let me add HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Okay, well my son is 29, so any baby paraphernalia we used is now called vintage or antique. Anyway, I had a Snugli baby carrier. They might have been the only brand available in those days. It looked like the one pictured. Even though my son was born in late fall, after it had cooled down in Houston, all I remember is how hot we made each other, and we both sweat like mad. I couldn't stand to use it. Not to mention the fact that he was the fattest baby in the world. He was also cute and good natured, but still.. I should add that my arm muscles were very impressive.

Camo suits you, Ledonna. Have fun with ZJ every day!

You look terrific! My sons were not into being carried on my front- I wished they were. They were also very large babies that quickly became so heavy!!

I have never worn camouflage myself because I have not been in the military.

Baby is part of my life so as a bonus she will be part of my pictures. Just call her baby nugget ylf. Lol

I recently found out about amauti, the garment worn by Inuit mums. This is way too hot to wear in Chicago in summer, but i love the idea of stowing nugget in a giant pouch. http://amautibaby.com/

A good friend of mine carried her kids in a sling made of several yards of plain fabric. I can't recall exactly how much and what type but once she learned to wind it properly it worked really well.
