Hi all

During August I tried to wear most of my nice winter knits, especially dresses. Winter where I am is short and mild. And August was more mild that usual. However I did manage to wear most of my favourite things at least once, and have included a few pics to share.

I have discovered that when it comes to fashion I am a faithful lover. When I get out my winter dresses, many of which are 5 years + old, I find I still love them as much as ever. It is not that I don't like trying new looks. I love trying new looks! I just don't fall out of love with the old ones. This makes purging, and maintaining a moderate sized wardrobe, a challenge. Anyone else have this problem?

Outfit 1: Burgundy. (For a change!) The only new thing here is the skirt (from Zara). I wore this with a long sleeve turtleneck top and Free People sweater (old). The skirt has a lovely bubbly texture and a great mix of colours which is better demonstrated in the close up (the light in my kitchen corner is pretty poor).

For Jenn and others in team Burgundy, I hope you will note the burgundy treasures I have on display here: including burgundy necklace, burgundy ring, burgundy clutch. Matchy, matchy, matchy. Who says you can't wear burgundy aaall the time?

Outfit 2: Winter white on white. I love the unexpectedness of wearing all white in winter. The dress is a cotton mix and is about 5 years old. The jacket is newish (about a year old) and is also from Zara. I was not happy with my choice of jewellery here. I chose a brass bracelet to match my ring but I think it looks pretty dull in the picture (compared to my watch). Next time I know better.

Comments, suggestions, questions welcome.
