Ask Angie: Keep, exchange, or next store on an Angie pick?!

So I was kind of ridiculously proud to have pre-picked an Angie pick! This AllSaints Flora Mortis T shirt sat in my shopping cart for 4 days while this conversation went on in my head: "I want it! That much for a T? But I want it! That much for a T?" On the 5th day it showed up in the blog post on fluid tops and I felt alarm that that would make it sell out! So I clicked Buy and here it is.

And I'm doubting it. It was going to be my Wild Card...edgy for me. It does hit my style words...easy, artistic, soft (in a way) and colorful (well, black and white are colors I like).

But....it doesn't feel right to me. It looks overwhelming. And it does highlight the IT in me. It's a M and it could just be taking "fluid, oversized" into too big territory. I could exchange for a S. But...maybe it is more than the size that is overwhelming? Maybe it is a beautiful item for someone else...a Next Store for me?

I don't care about the price if it is right for me, but want to return completely if it isn't. So...keep, exchange for S, or pass?

Well, I do like it quite a lot on you, Peri. I don't actually think it looks too overwhelming but it sounds like you'd be more comfortable in the small.

I am slightly concerned about this for you, though, because I know you have footwear limitations. I feel like this might be best with chunkier or heavier footwear to balance out the volume and your IT shoulders, like moto boots or chunky platform sandals, and I don't think you wear those types of shoes. Is it possible to show us how it looks with your shoes?

I think it has potential, too. I hope you'll try in a small. My one concern is that maybe your concern is pattern. Remember that Club Monaco jacket? I wonder if it's the pattern as well as the size that is troubling you.

It looks good. But how it feels is crucial.

I also think trying the size down is worth doing. As a fellow IT, I'd happily wear this shape (I don't usually pay attention to shoulder minimizing). You just have to be at peace with the width, it's not a bad thing

This looks great to me, so can you hold onto it while ordering the S? It cracks me up that the IT gals are all worrying about their shoulders, while I, with my narrowish sloping shoulders look admiringly at y'all's wonderful shoulder lines and never ever see the linebacker of whom y'all complain!

I think we are all in agreement...I will try the Small and see if that suits me better. Donna, I don't think I can hold onto the M because they give you only a 14 day return window. Luckily shipping is free, but I don't want to risk missing that window!
