So nice to have company in long rise misery!

Ah, the years spent with one-piece items (bathing suits, leotards, bodysuits) cutting off my circulation....I know it's winter most places, but don't forget Lands End is one of the companies that sells long torso suits.

Kari --

I know you and I were talking about the short leg/long rise/short waist issue a while back re Ann Taylor's allegedly tweaked fit on their lined dress pants. I just squeak by with them.

Did you strike out? If so I hope some of the suggestions above work. I've had bad luck with BR fits in the past, but sounds like I need to get back in there and see if it's my lucky day.

I bit the bullet 2-3 years ago and got the Citizens of Humanity high rise Amber (mild) bootcut. [Rise is 9" in front and higher in back.] These days it seems to be harder to find the high vs medium rise, but you might keep it on your radar, especially as they could end up on sale.

Vix, how funny to see this old thread pop up!

I did strike out on work/dress pants. I really can't find any that I like on me, even the Semantiks pair that was in the YouLookFab store. Brands like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, or Ann Taylor Loft, which seem to be standbys for some of my curvy friends, don't fit me well.

I did, however, luck out in jeans. Jag is a great brand for me - I like their Lucy bootcut and Sarah straight-leg pants. I also liked the Kut from the Kloth skinnies that were on sale at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this past summer.

I have never tried the CoH brand - not dipping my toes (or wallet) into the premium denim pool yet - but have heard that the Ambers are a great cut. Thanks for the recommendation! I'm glad that you were able to find a pair of jeans that works well for you.

RE: swimsuits, funny enough, but I actually did end up with a Land's End suit that I got during the spring. It's not only long enough, but also has underwire support AND comes in a large enough cup size for my bust. And it's a pretty teal. So great! I will totally buy suits from there from now on as long as they continue to make fabulous products.

Ha, I didn't even notice the date. Guess it was the jean company link that got things hopping again.

I bet I know what suit ya got since I'm always checking on their torso/underwire/cup size creations. Either way, the teal is perfect for you!

ETA I hear you on jean price and will keep my eye out for those brands. I about passed out when I bought the Citizens but after a lifetime of avoiding jeans due to stiff fabric/bad rise issues, I have gotten my cost/wear down to nothing on those.

So glad to hear so many others have this issue. I'm tired of hauling my jeans back up after sitting. I just bought some jeans by Jag and am having good luck with them.

You probably do, Vix. I don't mind sharing - I got this one and absolutely love & recommend it!

Lynne, I always do the "pants dance" of adjusting my waistband after sitting down, or after walking for a while - arrrgh. In general, skirts stay in place much easier because the waistband is actually near to my natural waist!
