I had a mixed feedback on the best length for these cropped trousers I bought recently. I adore the mini hound tooth pattern and the fit is great - relaxed without being baggy. What I am not sure about is the length.
I have shortened them 1" - do you think it works or do I need to shorten them even more?
For comparison I am attaching "before" photo of the original length - pic 2

So does this length work (pic 1) or do I need to shorten them more?

Tanya, I think there's a world of difference between #1 and 2. The shorter length is a lot more flattering and avoids the frump factor.

You *could* go shorter, but my personal opinion is that with your height and long, slender legs, you don't need to.

I like the new length! Although it's hard to focus on the length because that outfit is FAB!! Luv the neutral and print mix. Very sophisticated but relaxed look. I'm favoriting this one!

Okay, will do! I'm home for the night anyway and made a decent white sauce & shrimp/tuna pasta from scratch with a bell pepper & avocado salad, so at least I have something to celebrate aside from my declining mental faculties. Wish you could join me for real!

Sveta, love the pant sans the metal bits. Would like to see them cuffed to a slightly shorter length for comparison, but they are definitely better shorter.

Kari, the dinner sounds divine! I wish I could be there too...mine was a quick "whatever" meal before yoga calss...:-(

I'm on pins and needle to see what Angie will say.
You look amazing with them styled this way. They look so much better with out the junior-ish metal parts. You make everything you wear look so cool. Love the shirt, belt and bag. I really need a good belt like that!

Pic 1 looks like a page from a fashion magazine - stunning! Pants and half tucked shirt are gorgeous, and love the subtleness of your accessories - shoes, belt and bag. So neutral - so sophisticated!

I am amazed at how much difference an inch made. I was one of the ones who thought a length just at or just below the knee would look fab on those pants but the slightly shorter length is looking very very nice.

Honestly, I can't tell the difference in the pant length, because I'm focused on that whole amazing (#1) outfit. Love the semi tuck shirt and that the shoes are beige not blue or grey. I have similar pants and am planning to steal this look! Rock on!

These look great, Sveta, and you have such an artful semi-tuck! I admire the perfect rise in these -- neither too low, nor too high. This is my fashion task for fall -- to find a good rise and a well-fitting trouser! You're showing me the way!

Thank you for endorsing the length of those: I would hate to discover I have committed a fashion crime and not observed PPL.
I really love these trousers. I was looking for a pair of straight leg mini-check trousers forever without success. I wish I can also find a similar pair in full length...
It is amazing what a difference styling does to the same piece of clothing, isn't it? As Angie said the length difference is barely noticeable but they look so different in these pictures due to styling.
Beth Ann, I hope you can find your perfect pair. I found these by sheer accident. I was trying on some tops and wanted to try them on with pants as I was waring a dress so I grabbed the first pair in sight which was 1 size up from my size. Just before that I tried on like 10 pairs of pants in my size and they were hideous. So imagine my surprise when this accidental pair was a great fit and a pattern I wanted. I did not buy any top that day BTW...:-)
