Hello Mrs. Cox

I hope you are finding some time to relax this weekend :-).

I usually avoid larger scale or dramatic prints because they appear to overwhelm me, even at 5ft 8", but this dress keeps catching my eye. Do you think the print is a little too wild for my features?

The dress looks even more eye catching on the tattooed, raven haired, flamed lipped model but with my shorter do and styled with black pointy toe ballet flats it would look a lot more demure.

Julie, the colour way is so neutral, I don't think the scale is aproblem at all. I was expecting something WAY louder :). I think this would look great with your colouring.

I agree with Lynne. I think the scale is small enough for even a small framed woman to carry. I really like the black edging and piping too.

If it's been calling to you for some time, perhaps you should answer.

Julie, have you seen this one from mango? Different print, and a retro vibe, but a similar colour way. I've seen it on several people IRL and its lovely on:

I like it and I could see it on you, I don't think it's too wild at all. I also like how you want to wear it, with the black pointy toe ballet flats.

I can imagine that looking great on you. It is a bit edgy for sure but would not be overwhelming in my view. Haven't you been on the hunt for some fab leopard print for awhile?

Yes Scarlet, I was looking for a leopard print coat but could quite happily settle for a dress.

Lynne the MNG dress is FAB, they do not have a store in Edinburgh, I really wish they would hurry up!

I think it's a matter of personal taste. I know that I would love you in large scale prints and dramatic prints! And your body art will accessorize the look. Pointy toed ballet flats sound divine with this wild frock.

I also think that you are taller than 5ft 8

Cool dress. The way you style it will make all the difference. Pop some pearls on with that and it would ground the look a bit (if you're looking to do that.)

Well you know, Maya is always right (she said so herself). So banish all doubtful thoughts from that pretty head.

I've prepped: grilled sweet apricot jam chicken wings with onion rocket salad and stilton sauce for starters, spicy vegetarian amatraciana penne for main, and a wicked chocolate mousse for dessert.

and if so, do you use more apricot jam than this? Nigella reckons she cut down on the jam from the South African recipe she was basing it on, but DH and I feel we would have like have had more!

I think that dress would look way beyond cool on you (basing this on the handful of pictures I've seen of you) - definitely not overwhelming at all.

Anne, not quite but similar. I pop in 3x more apricot jam, add chili, soy sauce and garlic and leave out the tomato sauce. It drains when it's grilled in the oven. Flop proof!

Well Angie your menu just top trumped my dress, it sounds fab! I hope to have the dress within a couple of weeks and will post pics. In the meantime I just scored a seventies style shirt dress from ebay and can't wait for it to arrive. I think my future self will be wearing even more prints!
