Ask Angie (and others): Do I need to hem these Paige jeans?

I'm finally getting around to deciding exactly what footwear I'll probably wear most with these Paige jeans from the NAS. The answer? Flats and oxfords. Do I need to hem them? If so, by how much?

Pictured here with leopard loafers and Frye oxfords. By the way, does anyone know how to relax those wiley shoelaces on the oxfords?

I got these jeans as well. I plan on wearing mine with booties and probably my flat boots that are very similar to Fryes.
These jeans look fab on you! Do you find them to be very fitted in the thigh? Mine fit pretty much like on the model but it took me a while to decide whether I wanted that look or not. I decided to keep and will likely wear with some flowy tops.
I love your shoe selections! The oxfords are my favorite, especially with that shirt:)
You will likely need to hem them a bit, they have a long inseam but the leg is narrow so they scrunch. You have to decide how much of that you want, plus, take into account if you will wear with heels on occasion.

I wear skinnies with that amount of scrunch. I have skinnies with less scrunch too. They look fine at this length to my eye. I bat for Team Scrunch.

Angie, do you consider these skinnies? They're straight leg. I'm confused ... I thought skinnies were slimmer through the calf than straight leg jeans.

ETA: Tina, they are definitely fitted through the thigh!

Yeah. They look straight-ish on you because your lower legs don't fill them out. VERY slim straight legs. Virtually skinny. Skinnies don't need to be skin tight on the lower leg to be skinnies. Skin tight skinnies are leans (jeggings).

That is interesting about skinny/straight leg jeans. Mine are also not fitted in the calf area.
Anne, after looking at the pics again, I would not hem them. You have a longer inseam than I do, I have quite a bit more scrunch, unless these are rolled under. They look perfect at this length.

I don't think you need to hem them at all, Anne, they are the perfect length!

Hemming them a bit would probably work. But why bother? They look good as is. And if you ever feel like putting a pair of high-heeled pumps on with them, they would still look great.

And less work is always, always good. ;o)

I think they look good this way, Anne. I like pants longish so they don't become ankle pants when you sit down.

Nope, leave 'em!

Sometimes when jeans otherwise fit perfectly, I find tacking up the BACK seam on the legs (not the whole leg) works. I fold it over and tack it up with a few running stitches. That way I don't step on it. It's absolutely invisible on darker pants, too.
