Ask Angie: and all - Loft lace jacket in petite or regular?

Sorry about the bad pictures, I hope the bright sun doesn't make it too difficult to judge. Kind of funny since I've been hoping for sun!

The Loft lace jacket came yesterday. Since the sleeves are too long I ended up ordering a petite as well and am wondering which to keep. Per your suggestion I also styled it with boyfriend jeans and decided to wear my Birkenstocks.

I hope to be able to wear this to a Labor Day weekend wedding.

If the pictures load as I hope:
1-4 are the petite with a dress and boyfriend jeans.
5-8 are the regular with Halogen skirt/Dobbin tank and boyfriend jeans - with the sleeves tucked up a hem length.

I would like to be able to wear it with a skirt/dress and the jeans so if neither work, I'm ok with sending both back.

Suz, so tricky to load similar photos from the phone! They did load correctly so 1-4 is the petite and 5-8 is the regular. I wore outfits with slightly different hem and necklines so I could differentiate.

Gosh. The difference is subtle (well, on my laptop, with my ancient eyes). Which one feels better?

Gosh, that is so pretty on you. I'm not a jacket expert by any stretch of the imagination but I prefer the regular size on you. To my eye, the petite looks too short in the body. Will be checking back in to see what I missed since I'm probably wrong!

Prefer the petite! So perfect on you! I think the petite works with the feminine vibe of this blazer. The other one looks a bit more boyfriend-y in fit.

I love the jacket and both seem good - and only slightly different. Go with your gut on this in how they feel (can you move your arms the same in both? try the sitting test,)

I vote for the regular although I think they are both good. I prefer the longer length with the jeans and I think both work with the dress outfits.

I like the petite. I think it's just a tad shorter and works better with the dresses, and also maybe fits a little better across the back? Although that may just be the pictures.

I like the petite. The sleeves seem a bit long and wide in the regular. The petite length is a bit shorter overall and looks nicer.

without looking at the responses I went back and forth - and decided petite.
The jacket lengths look similar, but petite seems to fit you better across the back - less fabric wrinkling. Also petite sleeve length looks spot on - no alterations necessary. Gorgeous jacket btw, and I like how you're styling it. It's so versatile - dress it up and dress it down!

At least I was only wrong by a hair. I think I prefer the regular length because that's what I have been wearing--more of a BF fit like Jules said. That's what I'm telling myself at least

Joyce and Dee, pictures are funny. When I hold the two side by side the only real difference in the sleeves is length, though the shoulder width and back length are wider and longer on the regular.
Jules' comment about the boyfriend vibe of the regular, even though she preferred the petite, got me to thinking how even though I bought this for a wedding I'll probably wear it more with pants.
Like Diana, I prefer the regular with the jeans -
but as Merwoman commentented the petite is alteration free!

I think the petite looks better by far. The regular just seems a little "ho-hum," which is the effect I get when I wear misses' instead of petites' (I am short waisted).

Thanks for the input everyone. FWIW I went with the petite after taking some more pictures. I liked the longer length of the regular but preferred the fit across the back of the petite - as well as the no alterations required sleeve length.
