Well, I've put this off to the last minute, but I am retiring (YAY!) and my physician group is giving a party/reception in my honor this evening. It's hors d'oeuvres and drinks at a nice restaurant. Afterward we're going out to dinner at another nice restaurant.
Here are my two choices:
The first is more business-like, I suppose, but it's not necessary to look business-like in this setting unless I want to.
The second is more festive. It looks rather plain from the front, but it has a great pleated back.
What would you wear if you were me?
