Are these print pants past their prime?

These Etcetera pants are a few years old, they still fit, but I need a reality check on whether they are aged, tacky, old lady, or too much for my 40+ style for casual wear. Note: I live in the deep South and would not wear these outside the region. I'm contemplating wearing these for errands today, but feeling a bit self conscious.

I'm probably biased here because I have never been a fan of printed pants, but I'd toss them.

Printed pants are fringe trending. It's the silhouette that makes these seem a little dated. They would look better cropped and tapered. I vote toss or alter.

@angie-the pant legs are slight bootcut. Would I need to taper to straight leg or tighter?

From the last cropped pant exercise, I decided long pants or bermudas are best for my short stature, so no in-between lengths.

Briar, I like the print and think that tapering them at the ankle and paired with a bright heel would make them look very current; however, if you only wish to wear them for errand running perhaps the alteration isn't worth it?

I think you could really make these chic with the right blouse and jacket....:D I am a fan of this fringe trend obviously.

First, I had my own black and white print capris I tossed just this fall. I loved them enough to actually have the seat taken in by a tailor 3 years ago, when I got smaller than when they were first purchased in 2003. But their time had come and gone. I think these should be tossed unless you really love them enough to tailor them to be more current.

Thank you for the candid feedback ! They are in donate bag. I'm wearing #3 now and feeling more like myself! I really would like some red patent sandals. The pair I have are so old the liner decomposed when I tried them on, so silver sandals are the closest thing I have to brighten the black and white.

I would prefer this print on a skirt, on pants, it's a little strong for the overall outfit. Outfit #3 is really fab on you!

I love the print but the style is dated so I also vote toss.

@lisa and alaskagirl-- agreed. I loved the print and was trying to figure out why I wouldn't think twice if a pencil skirt, but the print on pants, aside from the dated cut, say "look at me" and not for the right reason!

#3 much better, I think you made the right decision. What is most important is that you feel confident and something, and those pants just weren't doing it.
