Are these "micro" fishnets?

I was thinking of treating myself to some knee high fishnets to wear under pants and jeans with flats. I found 2 pairs: One is by DKNY and the other is by Wolford. The Wolford ones are more than I would spend on a pair of full length tights, while the DKNY ones are $9 each and have a promo of 3 for $15, which is pretty great because it means I can get all 3 colors (black, brown, and nude).

However, I am concerned that the holes might be too big? They do not have a picture of the knee length ones on a model, but the full length version is probably similar and this is how it looks:

As I said, I will only be wearing these under pants and jeans, so only the foot will be showing. Yes? No?

I'm not sure Maya. To me they look more like regular fishnets, but I'm used to the Wolford Luxe 9 Net hose (super tiny fishnets, which I love!), so don't take my word for it.

If I were getting full length hose, I would definitely not go for the DKNY ones. Too holey. I also prefer the tiny holes and the subtlety of the Wolford ones. I love the knee high ones they have too, but for my purposes, $25 is just not reasonable. It is very hard to find knee high microfishnets though. These were really the only options I found. When I did a Froogle search for them, I got some interesting results from stores that appear to cater to exotic dancers. Not so fab!

Actually, when I compared the knee highs to the full length ones, the net appears to be thicker, which I'm not sure is what I want. I guess I will keep looking.

Hmm. Hard to say. I prefer a smaller hole because I'm used to Oroblu. But because they won’t stretch as much worn as knee-highs, the hole will automatically be smaller.

Maya, I don't know if you have seen it but I left a comment on your previous thread about micro fishnets with ballet flats. They have knee-high micro fishnets (perhaps slightly bigger but definitely not as big holes as on this one) for $4.99 a pack at Target. Each pack has 3 pairs in 3 different colors, nude, black and brown.

I did read that Bella and I promptly forgot! Thanks for reminding me. Do you remember what brand they were by chance?

Maya, to me the DKNYs appear to be standard fishnets, not micros.

I dont' know if these were the ones bella was referring to, but Target has these "net" ones that look micro-ish (they do have extra detail along with the net texture, though -- see what you think):

Hue makes something called "faux fishnet":

I couldn't tell from the photo, but usually department stores have a generous selection of Hue items so you could see them IRL. They also make these, which look very micro to me http://www.lorisshoes.com/prod.....d=LDS04613

April, the Target link didn't work. I can't seem to find them on the website. Do you remember what they were called?

Kristen actually tried the Hue ones and hated them. They started snapping and tearing almost immediately, so I have been avoiding them. I'm curious what exactly faux fishnet is though. Maybe it's more durable.

The Target ones are the "Merona Trouser Socks Mesh."

Oh, yes -- now I remember that Kristen was deeply unimpressed with the durability of the Hue fishnets. (Were they tights or knee highs? Seems like there would be a lot more tugging-on with tights, which might affect the tearing.)

"Faux fishnet" seems like a texture rather than an actual net -- hard to picture.

Kristen's were the full length tights, but I tend to be rather careless with my hosiery, so it's probably in my best interest to avoid them. Though I have no idea how durable a pair from Target would be, but for $4.50 it seems worth a shot.

The Merona mesh trouser socks are too opaque and not textured enough. They just look like regular trouser socks to me.

This is the effect I'm after: http://www.barenecessities.com.....d11889.htm

I'll go to Target sometime this week when the weather isn't totally miserable.

Hey Maya,
I purchased the knee high fishnets from Target today. Here they are:

And here they are on my feet:

I wouldn't normally wear them with these shoes, which I just realized also need a thorough cleaning:)

I think they are one size fits all. (Actually it says sizes 9-11 on the label but I couldn't find another pack for smaller size so I am guessing it's one size fits all.) I found them pretty soft and comfy.

Maya, I see Oroblu fishnets in a thigh high rather than knee high here at a good price: http://www.ezhosiery.com/tricotstocking.html

They seem to only have them in nude though.

Are the Oroblu fishnets that were at the NAS called "Oroblu Tricot"? I am bummed I missed them at the NAS because I've been wanting to try them, and the price was also right then.

They look great Bella. I'm all over them if I can find them in my store!

I second Maya - really like the look of them Bella!!!

I didn't realize the Hues I tried were under discussion here, sorry for the delay!

Yes, I tried the Hue stockings, and they were terrible. Especially now after having worn the Oroblu's I can definitely appreciate the difference in quality and durability; I wore both pairs in the same environment under the same conditions, and the Hue were shredded in 20 minutes while the Oroblu's are going strong.

The Target fishnets knee socks look adorable. Socks are much easier than stockings; they last longer for me.
