Anne, I'd say these lean toward heavily toward fashion sneakers. The low vamp and Mary-Jane strap, particularly, don't look like gear to me. I actually really like them, and think they'd look great on you. The pink stripe and the little wooden button definitely say "Anne" to me
If they function as well as gear, all the better!
