Are these booties OK for the symphony?

I got a last minute invite to the symphony. My dress wardrobe is a bit lacking (need to work on that) so going with a standby dress. Are these booties OK or are they too casual? I have higher booties or pumps but I may have to do some walking. I might throw on some hose for warmth. Should I do nude or sheer off black hosiery?

My opinion only, but I would love to see how a pump looks with this dress. But I tend to like to dress up for these type outings, so it might just be me.

I would go with comfort for walking! Pumps would be dressier, but the booties are just fine! You see a lot of different levels of dress at the symphony. Nude or sheer black hose would both work. Do you have a bag that will give a more sleek look, too? That will help you feel "dressed." I could see a plain black clutch, not "occasion" (i.e., not sparkly), but something simple that can look more evening than day.

Where I live this would be more than acceptable, but this is a small city, with a University, and most everyone wears casual clothes when they go to events, including the Symphony. (Ours went bankrupt, so sad!)

I wear things like this to the symphony (in boston) all the time. I almost always go straight from work so I tend to be in shoes I can go a whole day in, including commuting, so I'd definitely wear these boots. I always see a whole range of dress there anyway - everything from jeans+fleece to evening gowns (although those are rare these days).

I'd go with nude hose.

Thanks everyone!!! rushing so or I would give more personal replies. I live with all men so I truly appreciate having you all to help in a pinch. I haven't been to the symphony in ages so it's nice to know that some folk dress more casually so I should be able to get by with the boots. Firecracker - I am digging through my bag bin and I have 2 small black bags. Nothing I would call sleek but I will add this to my wardrobe hole list.

Go for comfort, within taste.
I love Angie_T's sentiment, but last time we were at the opera, the guys behind us were all about normcore. As in, white trainers and light-wash baggy mom jeans a couple inches too short.
