So, I just spent 20 hours (over two days) driving, so I had a chance to listen to the whole season! Helpful tip: the full season fits quite nicely in the drive from Chattanooga, TN to the Texas/Louisiana line.
I found it thoroughly engaging. I understand what Vivian is saying about the victim's family and her story not being told, but if I understand correctly, they declined involvement with the story, and I can't say I blame them.
I found it very thought provoking, and it got me thinking a lot about perception, memory, the power of reporting and gossip to shape public and individual opinion (and even warp memory), the criminal justice system, and how reporting and journalism have changed the years.
I do feel for everyone involved in the story, because now everything is being dredged back up, and I imagine everyone would love to put it all behind them.
