Oh, I do hope the antibiotics kick in quickly for you, Diane.

I hope this brings relief and the answers. Take care.

Thank you all x

I'm just going from painkillers to painkillers at the mo. Hoping the antis with take full effect soon. Oh to be pain free...

Trying to take my mind off it all by stopping by on the forum a little. Oh, and today is usually our pizza lunch day...I'm gutted that I can't eat it

I'm no doctor so do seek advice but many years ago when I fractured a toe a pharmacist recommended ibuprofen and co codamol, with 2 hours between the different painkillers. When my ear was at its worst last week I was taking 2 ibuprofen then 2 hours later 2 co codamol. Totally got rid if the pain. I made sure I ate with the tabs so they weren't on an empty stomach and took them for the least possible time but it was such a relief when the pain was at its worst.
I've also found Actimel an absolute wonder with my antibiotics. I always get an upset stomach with antibiotics but this time I have had an Actimel drink with each dose and with only 2 days tablets left my stomach is still fine. Hope yours kick in soon x

Diane, just popping in briefly to say I've been hoping the antibiotics have brought you some relief

Louise, I may get some Actimel, good suggestion.

Ruth, thank you, you're very kind

I'm pleased to report some relief at last! I've managed to drop off the pain killers a fair bit, the swelling is almost gone and I actually had a few spells today totally pain free, yay! That awful grey tense look caused by constant gnawing pain in my face is going at last too. One more day of antibiotics to go. I hope it means the infection is going to clear up. I will give it a few days and if the pain returns I'm off to the dentist for a root canal. Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

Fingers crossed that's the end of it Diane.

Diane G, I wonder if the dentist recommended a water pik device (or if you possibly use one). I feel like diligent cleaning (which I admit was uncomfortable at first) with a water pik used with a little baking soda saved one of my teeth several years ago from a root canal, something I would avoid at nearly all costs.

Glad you are on the mend. Much love.

Wow...so sorry you've been in pain these past few days. And happy to hear that you're starting to feel better.
