Anyone have a creative layering idea that could make this top work?

WHY does it have to be sheer?! ;_;

And the way it's shaped i don't think i could put a cami under it and make it look good. Right?

I always look for tops in this shape and it seems like every time i find one i like it's way out of my price range. This one is not. But of course this one needs to be difficult.

Ok, I may have fallen off the deep end, but the only thing I could make work in my head was... What if you tried it over a black shift dress?

The cream one isn't sheer. Can you sew? It wouldn't be that hard to add a lining to the lower half.

So sad. That is a pretty top, but promises to be a pain in the neck. Maybe all of this sheer business is a throw-back to 1980's Madonna style. I really don't get it. If it were lined with a teal cami that had a sweetheart neckline it would be really cute.

My sewing skills are pretty basic...I love the idea of adding lining though; i just don't know if i trust myself. o.o

Lucky magazine's Feb issue has a four page layout on how to wear sheer clothing! Here are a couple of ideas that may work:

They also say that 2 sheers layered = opaque, but I'm not so sure about that.

Nicoleb, you've got to make this work! It's too cute and which color are you interested in, because the cream does not look too sheer. In fact, I like the contrast, especially when watching the runway video. Do you have a reasonable dry cleaners in town that does alterations or tailoring and could do something for you, in case, you did need to add some extra layering? The price is definitely great. I like Di's suggestion or black leggings or a black catsuit. ^_^

Carole, I'm guessing the straps showing through the mesh? Second the prior suggestion of a bandeau cami in black or teal (if you can find a shade that matches).

I was thinking a tube top as well. I think some come with built-in bras now, right?

Or what about an A-shirt instead of a cami? That would match the shape of the top better and look more intentional.
