Yeah, according to the chart I take a 26, which is what I take in the Citizens. So if 24 is a 7-1/4 inch rise, I have to think that a 26 is pretty close to that, and I like a 9 inch rise! But the photos make it appear that these are higher than that, because they nearly reach the belly button. So it's tough to say. Plus there's all that marketing stuff about the waistband not creating belly bulge...
My second pair of Citizens (I think they're Amber), the bootcut ones, are lower than the Huttons, and they hit lower than I like but it is true there's something about the waistband and/or material that makes it not so bad. I.e., they aren't uncomfortable to wear, they don't slip down funny, BUT I am still careful to layer and choose tops that cover up that part, because it isn't all that attractive.
I'm guessing these jeans are probably comparable rise... in which case, they may not be worth it. But if the return policy isn't too bad, I may be tempted to give it a shot.... for curiousity's sake alone!
I'm particular curious how they can make one jean that appeals and flatters both hippy pear-shaped women, and non-hippy, gut-flabby, flat-butted women (I'm in the latter category). I think the woman in the photos is pear shaped. Her figure looks an awful lot like my DD, so if nothing else, if they don't fit me quite right, perhaps I will have an early bday present for her!
