Any trends in nail colour?

Below is my collection of nail polish minis (except for the regular Essie). I only do my toes. 2015 I was into orangey red, red, and a wonderful chrome blue that I would get done at the aesthetician's. 2016 I used all the colours shown except the silver, however the white and the periwinkle got the most repeats.

With May just around the corner, I'm thinking of starting with the pale pink/coral - and then change things up every 2-3 weeks like I normally do.

Have you had your spring pedi? What colours will you be using this summer? Are you aware of any trends?

Yes! I am on my second pedi of the season! Both have been pale, translucent ballet pink--that's the sum total of my comfort level. In mid-Summer, I sometimes wear a frosty shell/silver color. The last "fun" color I wore was years ago and it was ice blue. Can't wear ice blue now, though, when my toes turn pale, cadaverous purple from cold.

Not sure what the trends are, but I've got Zoya Blaze on my toes at the moment. It's a deep cranberry red with scattered holographic effects that only reveal themselves when in the sun...sort of business in the front, party in the back I'm a nail color junkie though and operate outside of most folks' comfort zone. My purples, blue pinks and holographic pastels get the biggest workout year round.

Googling shows metallics, nudes, and some orange. Also black geometric bits.

I saw some soft pinks, grays (like gray scaling from dark to bright), white-out, interesting metallics, and some graphic art.

No idea of trends but got compliments this summer on this amazing greenish-gold polish from OPI. It's a few years old from the Spider-Man collection, called Just Spotted the Lizard. It was great with my pale green patent sandals x

No, I haven't had my spring pedi yet. We're having unusually cold weather at the moment, so I'm waiting for warmer days, when I'll be able to wear open shoes.

Your coral or pale pink nail polish sounds like a great option to me. Very spring appropriate.

Unfortunatelly I don't really follow trends, because I'm always* using very natural-looking nail polish. Preferably slightly red or pink tinted sheer one. My current favourite is SpaRitual's "Effervescent".

*Disclaimer: except for Christmas time, when I go crazy with red and glitter.

I had a couple of pedicures in Florida. I stick to earth tones. The spa I went to used SpaRitual polish which I really liked. I wore "Can You Dig It". It is a beautiful bronzy coppery brown. They were all sold out of the polish so I could not buy it. I often wear "Brisbane Bronze" by OPI.

I love bright watermelon or coral-pink almost year round, as I love to look down in the shower and see happy toes! For a special event like a summer wedding, I'll coordinate with my outfit.

My last mani/pedi was a pinkish-bluish taupe on the fingers, and ice blue on my toes. I am getting another mani/pedi this week, and can't decide what to go with this time.

I looked up the OPI spring line before I went last time, and wasn't really impressed with any of the colors.

I think I may do a light grey on my fingers, and something pink on my toes.

I have a new OPI dark orange (from their new spring collection ) on my toes and white on my fingers. I'm due for another polish changes on my toes soon and will likely do white or Tiffany blue. The pic of the white nails are mine, and the black will be my next mani - although not in black .

I'm too hard on my hands to bother with manicures much, but I'm overdue for a pedi! Was planning on getting one once I got back from my desert trip, but I'm waiting for my foot to heal a bit more. I give my toes a break from color during the winter (except for when I'm on a beach vacation), so I'm taking all this in, in preparation to decide on my first color of the season.

I've been wearing my nails in "no color high shine" for the past couple of years, and for the last 2 years, mostly dark blue on my toes....but I'm ready for a change...just not sure to what, so i'll be following this thread

Another one here who is hard on manicures! But on my toes I'm sporting a pretty robin's egg blue. It feels springy!

I generally do what I like which is not anything pink, orange, or red. I like white, grey, purple, blue, green, etc. The darker the color, the shorter I keep my nails.

I am seeing lots of silver and white in these parts lately. Admittedly, my neck of the woods is what I would call fashionable but not fashion-forward, if that makes sense. I like the silver, but it is too cool for me. I'd love to find a silver-y gold for this summer.
Right not I am wearing Essie Caviar Bar on my toes and OPI By Popular Vote on my fingers. I've worn By Popular Vote almost exclusively this fall and winter. I love the rosey pink color and I guess others do, too, because I've had perfect strangers approach me to ask what it is. The name is an added bonus. It's from this past fall's Washington DC collection and I liked a number of the colors in that group.
Just took a look at the Spring 2017 OPI collection, and I've got to say the taupe and gray were appealing to me. I will have to check them out in person.

I went for my first Spring pedi 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately my feet have been in my flats more than sandals and just last night I noticed some Edge wear.

Currently I'm sporting a fuschia shade. Can't recall the name. It's OPI. I'll add a pic.

I do have a large polish collection that's mostly brights and darks. Primarily colors, not many neutrals. I may choose a pastel if I get it professionally done again in a few weeks since that would be very new for me.

I just downsized my nail varnish collection by donating to some tween neighbours.

I now have
- dark oxblood (worn in winter rarely, but occasionally perfect)
- bright pink
- nude pink
- dark blue (perfect with one dress in particular on toes)
- pale violet/blue
- true red

I got rid of pewter (made me look too sallow, pinky - reds, warm purples and a couple of other pinks..

I get one or two professional pedicures a year and shellac/gel nails in spurts and I choose a wide range of colours mostly in the gold/pink/orange/coral family.... I stay away from colours that are too cool - a grey manicure was my worst ever!!

I don't worry too much about trends in colours, I just pick what I like now - I have seen mint greens, butter yellows, blacks, whites, metallics etc

I'm really liking Sally Hansen's Color Therapy line. Especially "Powder Room" which is a rose-toned silver metallic. It's very long-lasting for manicures.

I got a pedi a couple weeks ago. I got a very pale pink. The pedicurist wants me to get pale grey because I wear so much grey.

I am liking white and silver. I like the sound of the rose toned silver metallic that c.elaine mentions.

Because there are so many choices I decided a couple years ago to stick to classic red on toes most of the year with maybe a coral or watermelon in the middle of summer. Dark black-ish on fingers most of the year. For fingers I have also found only the dark look good now with my aging hands. Otherwise I would do a nude pink.

I am also hard on my hands so just keep a clear polish on my fingernails. Last summer I liked a pretty pink on my toes but I'm thinking I want to go more neutral this year. I did the pink a few weeks ago and I'm just not feeling it.

Gosh, I only ever wear one colour on my toes, a fuschia colour. I have never thought to change it up ... but to the be fair I don't get a lot of heat or sun to expose my toes for months, maybe two weeks at the most. I had to scrape ice off my car yesterday, it's still that cold in England.

As for my hand nails, I am always changing colour. I have gone back to glittering my ring fingernail and stamping the middle finger nail or adding gem stones etc. At the moment I have a Leighton Denny metalic purple colour, then my ring finger is Ciate gold glitter and my middle finger has goldy pearly tiny gems on it. Its been on a couple of days so I will be changing it later. I do my nails about 3 times a week, like I said, always changing the colour.

Trend-wise I haven't seen a lot except for a lot of lavenders and peaches (typical for spring!).

I am very pale and particular about my polish colors as some tend to read as sallow on me.

Hands down (pun intended!) my favorite color is Essie's "Bikini so teeny" - it's a pale denim-ish blue with a hint of shimmer and I really enjoy it for both pedis and manis. I tend to wear it almost all summer! Essie's "Pret a surfer" is another slightly deeper blue that is also nice, and "Butler Please" is a fun royal blue that also makes for a fun change on pedis.

OPI's "My Chihuahua Bites" is another favorite, it's an orangey red that reads pink in some lights and coral in others, and is a cheerful pedi color.
