Another Nordstrom Keep or Return -

I've received almost all of my "haul", so here are the photos:

1) red Gallery trench in a S and a black one in SPetite.
The red S is too big and the black SP has short sleeves. An XS might give me the narrower shoulder and longer sleeves. This was more rain-coat/gear-ish than I had expected so I would eventually want a dressier trench. Given this, would the XS be worth getting? And which color - red/black/green?

2) Black halogen cardigan (regular size) and blue halogen cardigan (petite).
If I keep one, it would be the petite size (possibly in a different color). Is the petite too long on me? Does it work with the top and/or dress.

3) Söfft 'Rialto' Sandal in black
I'm keeping these unless you tell me they don't work with this dress or the yet to arrive Franco Sarto Mega sandals are even more amazing. I love these so much more than my last round of black sandals and they are ridiculously comfortable for their height.

I really like the blue cardigan - it just seems like a better fit. And I prefer it with the dress - which is great with the shoes! I really like them - It's a beautiful thing to find a hot pair of black heels that are also comfy!

They P trench fits you slightly better....I do like it in the red. The P sweater does not appear too long at all. Shoes look great too! Glad to hear they are all comfy. Hope this helps!

The sandals and the sweater look fantastic! I'm not in love with the trench, but the copped pants might be throwing my eye off. I agree that an XS might be a better option if you decide on this model.

I think you're right to try the XS on the trench. I prefer the red, though haven't seen the green.

I love the blue cardigan in the petite and it looks good with pants and the dress.

The shoes are just beautiful.

The petites in both the coat and the cardi look great to me - I don't think that sleeves on that black trench actually look too short. Those shoes are fabulous!

I like the blue cardigan better. It seems to fit a little snugger than the black one, which looks a little roomy in the photo. I LOVE the shoes. I feel like I'm always on the hunt for black sandals and those are great.

The petite trench looks great too, but I see your point about trying the XS.

If you're going to try the XS in the trench, I like the red.

Thanks all for commenting on trench and cardigan fit. Ironically enough, it is Di's comment on the full price thread that all the clothing she buys needs to make her do a little dance that is in my mind right now.

The trench does not make me dance. I realized what I really want is a sophisticated lightweight coat for spring/fall . I have a dressier raincoat with a broken zipper which I like anyway, so I should invest in getting it fixed instead of buying a new raincoat. I can wait for the perfect walking coat.

The cardigan does not make me dance but a long black cardigan does fill a wardrobe hole. I will return both and wait for the black SP to be back in stock.

The shoes make me dance of course. I have a few birthdays and a wedding to attend in the next month, so you'll be seeing them in outfit posts soon.

Newbie here. Just wanted to add something.... Love the dress, love the shoes, but together, I think it is a little tricky. To me the dress basically falls into the "daytime" category, and the shoes seem more like "evening wear." I think you could put them together for evening, if you added a few bold accessories. However, I think it would be tricky for the outfit to not get too busy and have the accessories compete with the shoes.

I guess my preference would be to see the shoes with some color, even as simple as dark-wash jeans, rather than with the charcoal. Or, alternatively, personally I like an outfit in a monochromatic palette to be a little more fluid feeling; maybe try it with some sheer gray hose to blend the leg line more?

#1- I prefer the red color here. #2-I don't mind the shorter petite cardigan in either outfit. #3-super new shoes, love them on you.

I think the P cardi is perfect. Looks like you've made up your mind about the trench - I would have said the P was better there also. Shoes are fab!

A little late to this party, but definitely the smaller size in the trench (and maybe go for the red). LOVE those sandals!

I think those shoes are just perfect. Not sure about the rest. I ordered that same trench in red, and am also unsure about it.
